Need Advice

Back to orginal question are there any career agency that are repubtable that someone would recommend. One that you would feel safe with your contact.

Van Berg & Assiociates, been with them for years and Troy the owner is upfront and honest.

But again what are you looking for?

If I decide to go to career side I am looking for leads, If I am going to give up major % of commission I dont expect to pay the same price for leads that I would being independent. I am looking for an agency that values an agent and not just looking for another name on a sheet. Im looking for a place where if I decide to only sell and not recruit then thats my decision and your not black balled because of that. I think another question you ask was face to face or by phone. I do sales face to face. I don't think you build any loyalty with your customer doing it by phone and the next agent that does walk in will probably replace you. I think my biggest worry with going with some of these agencys that have been mentioned it seems like once your in theres no way out if they do turn out to be terrible. I know there has to be some reputable ones out there. I am no sure if there just scared to comment on here or what? One thing I have noticed on the forum I never see them try to defend thereselves so that makes me wonder too.:) Thanks to all of you who have commented on here it surely helps.

If I understand correctly your looking for a company that has meetings, training and accountability weekly, lots of support etc? Which, if so leans more towards captive companies.

Verses independent where you are your own boss, do everything on your own, work out of your home or rent an office for yourself, etc?

When an agency or company that offers infustructutre, leads, support, training, selling cycle etc, you will have a cut in commissions.

Do it all on your own and you get higher commission but rely only on yourself.

If you do it on your own, then I would call marketers, agencies, imo's, fmo's etc and negotiate the highest commissions. To answer your question regarding being stuck, it doesn't matter who you go with you are stuck unless the upline releases you or you don't produce for X amount of time. So get the highest commission, the reality is most up lines don't do anything for you except offer commissions. The real question is what insurance companies should you contract with thru an agency, like foresters, moo, AARP etc. go as direct with X company as you can, less middle men means more room to get higher commission contracts.

Lastly high commission contracts need to be earned (usually), that is why I recommended Van Berg (if you go independent) because if you earn it he will give it and there are other marketers out there that will do the same.

Thanks I will check them out.

Anybody else I know some of you out there are with some of the companies. Everyone's not independent. I will say I lean more toward going independent. Do you have any recommendations of how to get a few sells before you buy leads just to build a little base. Why do some of these companies want you to come to there home office for training at your expense. One was in Mississippi I am in NC. that's a long way to go for just 2.5 days. I guess web doesn't work.

It depends on where you are located. I used to work for them as a debit agent. Debit is basically the same as FE. I was just trying to give you a few career companies to check with in case you got lucky and have a good manager near you and a good agency, either with Mutual or AGLA or any of them, you need a good manager and a well run agency. Certain parts of the country have certain good career shops near them, it just depends upon where you live.

You may even have a good FE agency near you , who knows.
