Need Auto Dialer Info

Never illegal to a biz - just don't tie up all their lines at the same time.

Residential - some States have laws - but never enforced.

However - come 9/09 the FTC laws go into effect and will be enforced on the Federal level with State involvement.

Fines are going to be severe enough that we will not be doing residential.

Good luck,

Tom

If the fines are so severe why isn't there more news about it? It seems like there would be an uproar from the "auto-dialer" lobby. Are the restrictions limited to predictive dialers or are sequential dialers also effected?

Mike -

It is directed at autodialers with an automated message.

If a human is involved in the onset of the call - it would be exempt.

Tom

• Expressly prohibit telemarketing sales calls that deliver prerecorded messages, whether answered in person by a consumer or by an answering machine or voicemail service, unless the seller has previously obtained the recipient's signed, written agreement to receive such calls;

If a person fills out a form on the internet requesting a quote (i.e. An insurance lead) is this considered permission with a digital signature? What constitutes a telemarketing call? It seems like if someone gives there information including phone numbers they obviously want to be called.

That's good to know. I am still getting requests for integration with auto-dialers and it just didn't make any sense if this was all going to be over on 9/9/2009. I'm also going to be releasing a contact manager with my leads (for free) later this year and I think it would be good to but auto-dialer integration into it, but if it's not going to be legal after September, no reason to do it. This thread has been very helpful.

Mike does than mean if I use a combo CRM/Dialer packages like InsideSales.com, then I can't auto import your leads?

I am very interested in finding out more about purchasing a system for 395.00 vs renting services for 200.00 a month. Can someone please give me more info. Thanks

We integrate with InsideSales.com right now. We have agents already using that system. We can integrate with any online CRM service that accepts an http post, xml post, SOAP, or other web service. We can also send leads with attachments for csv import, etc. It's not a matter of what we CAN do. We can do just about anything provided that it is worth programming. I am in the process of expanding upon these systems and am trying to prioritize the various systems out there, which there are hundreds.

It gives you a 90 day window to call someone that is on the do not call list. I doubt it exempts the voice broadcast type of system though, you need to be a person.

Go to telemarketing.donotcall.gov The rules are pretty clearly posted. I wouldn't take anything anyone says on here as correct when developing a business model.

Thanks. Will do.

This doesn't really pertain to the original question but wanted to throw it our for anyone thinking about using skype to run a dialer. Skype is starting to limit the number of outgoing calls to around 50/day. Any calls after that will have a connect and a per minute fee. Found that out today while researching voicents autodialer products
