Never Pay for a Lead Again!

I like the idea, I had my physical yesterday, and I gained weight, over the winter. I need to walk a off a few pounds, well, maybe a whole lot more, than a few.
 
I've been door knocking for almost 10 years now........its how I was trained and wouldn't do it any other way.

I average around $250 in monthly premium per week, and have almost zero marketing costs.

Its been very profitable for me and will continue to be so.

You D2D for final expense? Do you door knock off of a mail lead or cold of a list?
 
I was asked a question and I wanted to post my response. There are a ton of people who can't bring themselves to door knock cold, call a dm lead, cold call, or get out of bed and try to struggle against the day, my advice is this, find a combination of what inspires and motivates you. QBS author says, people are motivated by either golden medals or golden retrievers (chasing them!), which is similar to what Tony Robbins preaches, some people are motivated by fear of consequences, and some are inspired by the gains of acting. You never know what does it for you until you try both, YOU MIGHT NEED BOTH!
I have always struggled with prospecting, it never comes easy, and if it does, well then your crazy and you have other problems to worry about. It's not enough to find what will make you get up and knock, call, or drum up prospecting activity, you need to figure out what will help you become more genuine, compassionate, more advisor-like and less salesman.
I actually took out some post cards and did this before I went out dking the other day.
I wrote at the top and my responses were;
WHATS TO GAIN IF I SELL A POLICY GOING D2D?

  • #1 HELPING OTHERS
  • confidence in my sales ability
  • financial independence
  • verifiable data to scale up results
  • great stories to share!
  • more exercise
  • no overhead
WHATS TO GAIN IF I TRY OUT 25 HOUSES?
WHAT WILL I LOSE IF I DON'T TRY?

You will come up with your answers right away. If your still scared shitless it's due to a couple of reasons;

  1. your not confident in your sales ability due to not having enough information to positively impact people's lives so your not confident in your effectiveness to deliver value
  2. your not confident in your sales ability due to not having a process in place to deliver value
1 is product knowledge, 2 is prospecting knowledge

Product knowledge is cured by researching the niches of each company, their billing practices, their pos #, having leave behind materials, an application you can understand and help a prospect navigate. It's also cured by understanding what the prospect has to GAIN by using your product/service.

Prospecting Knowledge is cured by having a presentation you know cold, a process for moving a prospect from initial contact, to needs analysis, to presenting problem, solving with solution, gaining agreement, pricing options, and button-up. It's also cured by having a marketing plan in place whether it contains schedules for when you are going to prospect, do admin work, and have appointments. How you will prospect and When you will prospect, your basic rules.

Also, the most important, you must understand in what ways you are positively impacting people's lives, this bears repeating. If you don't know how your creating meaning in your life and other's by helping, then this becomes a job, a churn and burn operation, you will amass customers and not clients. Most agents, this changes when they deliver their first claim check, if you haven't had the pleasure of doing this then you must imagine the scene and understand how you helped the family through one of the worst moments of their lives.

I door knock for life insurance. Sometimes it's a simplified issue whole life, simplified term or children's whole life. I walk away from fully underwritten term.

I don't use any lists or leads. I just hit the streets and don't stop until I've sold something for the day.
 
I got an idea! go door to door and work your arce off for a couple of weeks and then take the money you made and buy some decent leads and then go out and make twice the money in half the time.

work smarter not harder

I'm no good with leads. My foreign accent is too thick on the phone.

The money I make now is almost all profit, the money I make is fine especially for the limited hours I put in.

But thanks for the advice.
 
Lets see pay 450 per 1000 or more wait two weeks in hopes of a 2% return to sell half or in the mean time I can cold call set an appt and door knock those around it for no additional cost. What I have started to do and now ghat tge weather is starting to cooperate Is I will buy a list of names send them a personalized generic med sup flyer has my pic on it saving seniors money. I tell them that I will be calling in a few days and I do asking if I can help them save money on their med sup Hand write the address on the envelope thus will make sure they open it

Im curious, since you're not looking for a specific niche, just whoever needs life insurance....whats your approach? I like to learn new things!
