PhoneBroadcasting Systems Outlawed Sept. 09?

The 'Press 1' live transfer leads are not the way to go. Don't care who is selling them.

Others can tell you about live transfers, which I view as a live person talking to a live person before the transfer. Those have a lot more merit.

I haven't found a source that doesn't work for some people. Press 1 transfers do work, direct mail does work, internet leads work, telemarketing works, marrying into money works best.

health agent whats your plan of attack?? can you let us in on your little secret??
So Dan you dont think that live transfer leads (like ramiz') is the way to go huh??
thanks guys appreciate the wisdom

I'm not a one trick pony. If anyone is making a living doing one narrow job and knows nothing else that's not a very safe living.

What do I think of transfers? I've never been one to care what other's results were. Try it out for yourself and see. The failure rate in this business is terrible so posts like "...I tried it and didn't make a dime" really don't interest me.

Thats absoluely true. The failure rate is high in this business because most people are quitters. They want it to come easy and it does come easy but only after you learn the ropes and have paid your dues.

Would you expect to drive a racecar without ever learning to drive; the answer is no. A business like a race car requires the mastering of skills and processses first before you can be capable of being a success at this.

The majority try things once or twice and then say this doesnt work. They never allow the laws of numbers and repetition to work for them. They just decide it is too hard and work retail or as an order taker.

Running a business is hard work, make no mistake but once you have the systems in place and the skill set; it is just step 1, step 2 and step 3 and success becomes inevitable as long as you do the things that make people successful in this business each day.

If anyone is looking for a magic bullet there is none, and most will fail at this business because they can't stomach the word no, they take it personally and think its too hard on them. The truth is success often arrives dressed in workclothes not an Armani business suit.

I reluctantly started to offer the Dial 1 solution about 3 months ago since I have a few clients that insisted on using this type of marketing (some are in insurance but most are mortgage credit/debt service companies).

I never personally cared for or recommended this type of marketing to our clients. I am sure most of you on this forum who called me and inquired about this will remember my position and I probably tried to talk you out of it.

This actually does work for a small percentage of some users, but just as the landscape is strewn with defeated new agents, so are the marketers using this Dial 1 tool.

Usually, when it comes to insurance agents, for some, it's their lazy method of running their business... wow! I don't have to do any work, just have this dial 1 solution in place to get my phone ringing! And it's usually the agents that can least afford to implement this dial 1 strategy into their marketing plan consistently.

If you plan on using dial 1, like John and others have implied, make sure you do your due diligence before you lay down your money because you could pay dearly in fines if you are not careful... And do yourself a favor and consult with your attorney, or your states AG's office, not with a service provider... you will have to sign an agreement before starting making you responsible for all infractions.

Although I am sure their are some good players in this game and will suggest the correct advice, but this is not 100% true in all cases. I for one do not give legal advice and you should not make a decision on answers given from someone trying to sell their service to you.

For what it's worth, I hope this helps.

Reading these messages it seems amazing anyone makes it using any method:

telemarketing sucks and isn't effective
every lead source is a con and sucks
etc...

The bitter ugly truth is that it's not the method or lead source that sucks - it's the agent.

Blaming failure on external things is a very dangerous habit to get into. I'd be successful if only:

1) My product was better
2) My leads were good
3) My compensation was better
4) My territory was better
5) My boss was better

Blaming anything on your lack of success is bad news. If you are not successful there's only one reason - grab a mirror.
