That's a great story, and shows how Southern Women never had any trouble running things, even if they weren't "equal"! My own Southern Moma* used to say, "I don't want to have equal rights with men. If men think we're equal they'll quit doing what they're told!"
(*She always insisted that "Moma" was spelled with an O. Of course she got her way on that, just like everything else!
