Post-Corona, Preparing for Normalcy

Because they taste good and I like them...;)

...and I don't watch CNN, MSBC, read the Washington Post or USATODAY, I don't trust the WHO or some things FDA says.

I like to look at the numbers for myself, and I don't automatically trust someone because of their education... I've have ran into too many educated idiots that were well spoken and didn't know which end of the horse you put the bit into.

Just an excuse for their beastiality.:eek:

First, I think he realizes that all our f2f careers are over as we know them. Will most of us be ok- yes. Will any of it be the same for the next year or two - no.

I'm going to guess that one of the folks I blocked so I would no longer troll and bully them has posted, and from your response I'm going to presume that "he" is "me." If I am wrong, blame my ego - that guy is always getting me in trouble.

I have not given up on a return to normalcy. I believe face 2 face will resume and will pass through one or several awkward stages and then return more or less to normal.

I am realizing that we do not have months and months to prevent an economic event that may require another world war from which to recover. Absent the government committing to bailing out the families that fund it rather than the corporations that fund their campaigns, we need to get back to work, and soon, regardless of the health consequences.

If Bill Gates wants to sit out the next 10 weeks that's fine. But unless he is paying everyone's rents, mortgages, and Amazon Prime Whole Foods deliveries, he should STFU.

This does not mean that Wuhan Virus is no longer extremely dangerous. But since the government's response has been wholly inadequate to the economic cost of a shut down response, we need to get back to work.

We've got some ignorant politicians. People are getting an extra $600 a week on top of the unemployment check. They get more than they did when they were working.:no:

Some people should start getting an extra $600 in unemployment benefits this week. Here's what you need to know if you're applying.

I have zero problems with regular folks getting the money. Have every problem with $880 billion go directly to corporations that paid $200 Billion in taxes last year. You have to remeber those folks getting the extra $600/week paid the other $1.7 trillion that Donnie, Mitch, Chuck, and Nancy grabbed from us last year.

You need to remember what side you play for because it isn't the one you keep defending.

People are getting an extra $600 a week on top of the unemployment check.

Airlines spent $42.5 Billion the last two years buying their own stock back on the open market to boost share prices (temporarily) and earnings per share (fewer shares outstanding = higher per share earnings = bigger executive bonuses) and are now getting $50 Billion handed to them - but you're worried about the families trying to feed their kids and pay their rent getting a measly extra $600/ week for a few months?

Boeing spent $11.7 Billion on the same stock buy backs over the last 24 months and are asking for $60 Billion in Fed handouts!

But that's no problem? but the the $600 that Johnny Lunchbucket is going to get irks you?

The American worker who has been shut down by government order is getting a paltry one-time $1200 tax rebate (which will eventually be clawed back through higher taxes, cell phone fees, etc.) while the two wings of the business party have provided a $4 Trillion dollar slush fund for irresponsible greedy corporate donors with nary a string in sight; and bumping unemployment from under $300/week to $900/week is what gets stuck in your craw?

Dude, I love you. But c'mon, man. Are you a billionaire? You play golf at Mare Lago with Trump and Gates?

That $600 is to help out our people. You should be pissed that its only $600.

You and I agree on a lot of things. That's unfortunate - I had hoped you had more power over your posts and behavior than me. You are giving me far too much power. You're bigger than blaming me for your behavior.

I see no way for things to be close to normal for a while. I saw a woman hiking alone on a trail with a mask. Another woman wearing a mask to walk to the mailbox. My mother is a great example. I love her so much, but she is unable to figure out what's going on around her until either my dad or the t.v. tells her what to think and believe, and there are plenty of people like her. People are terrified, to the point they are just doing things they saw on tv without any understanding of the application, and that won't turn off like a switch. There are people who are actually focusing on sensational headlines from the NY times and the Washington Post over information from university studies and the CDC!

If Bill Gates wants to sit out the next 10 weeks that's fine. But unless he is paying everyone's rents, mortgages, and Amazon Prime Whole Foods deliveries, he should STFU.

He probably has more power and audience than everyone on this site put together. So, you can tell him to STFU all you want. That won't change anything. What may benefit you is trying to figure out what comes next, and how do deal with it.
