Post-Corona, Preparing for Normalcy

Ok, I get it now, yeah another guy. That makes a lot more sense. Daytimer and I have gone at it a bit, but we are actually on the same page on a lot of stuff, so that makes more sense.
I hope that most people wouldn't just block someone due to a disagreement. I don't expect everyone to have my opinion but I think that public discourse is an excellent way to empathize.

David jumped the shark and feels the need to block a bunch of people that have contrary opinions to him.

I don't know who is saying what, but the folks I have blocked have been blocked due to their behavior and not because I didn't agree with them about something. Their behavior may have been in reaction to something on which we didn't agree, but I blocked them because of how they acted, not because of what they believed.

I disagree with all manner of good folks here on many issues important to me and wouldn't think to block them. Anyone on my block list is there because of themselves, not me. I enjoy my time here, and it has improved with every decision to block.

Everyone who I have blocked knows I do not see their posts, and yet they apparently have need to address me, talk about me, or otherwise allow me to occupy their minds rent free. So when someone protests that I have blocked them, consider the plain fact that the reason they are upset or angry about me having done so is because I am no longer available to receive the abuse that got them blocked to begin with. Must frustrate at least one or some of them to no end.

EDIT: I see after I posted this that at the bottom of the thread it says "see ignored content.". I see that pretty often, and I don't click on that ever. So whoever is posting and causing the confusion should know aI have no idea who is saying whatever it is that is being said. And I never will. Unlike those guys, I don't give any of them one second's worth of thought other than this post, which I am doing to respond to others, such as @Tahoe Ray and @Markthebroker with whom I do care to continue communicating.

I see no way for things to be close to normal for a while

You may be right and neither of us will know until the attempt to get to normal is made. But the vast majority of folks are going to go right back to normal, and those who would remain paranoid will falli in line wit the majority's example. Around here when I do go to a grocery store, for every one person masked up and social distancing there is one or more shopping like its 1999.

I believe humans will go back to being humans pretty quick once the politicians decide it is time to end the holiday and get back to work. I hope I'm right and you are wrong.

You know what, I think you're right on that one. I stand by my opinion that we won't see anything close to normal in the near future on a macro level, as a whole. However I think you may have hit the nail on the head on a micro level. There are a bunch of people that will be terrified of their neighbor, going outside, seeing someone without a mask, or hearing someone cough. Then, there will be a whole bunch of other people, that don't give two sh*ts and go on about their lives. I see both of those groups well represented on a regular basis. I think how much of the population is on one side versus the other will vary largely by region, as will the speed the balance between the two evolves over time.

My target market is auto repair shops, and I think they're going to largely be in the "don't give two sh*ts" group.

The fact is, though, that if you and I go out and about meeting with people, we will likely have to weed through more people that are scared of f2f versus 2 months ago. So, we'll either have to work harder, qualify better, or mix in other ways to sell. Maybe the change in meeting style might even materialize into benefits somehow. Who knows. Challenges and adversity have spurred innovative change for benefit in the past. Fortunate for me, f2f is a relatively small part of my business, but an important part.

We can theorize 'till we're blue in the face, but we're sure gonna find out soon. Hopefully sooner than later. And yes, for both our sake, I hope you're right too.

Hmmm. I don't know about that. He and I got into it a bit in the beginning. Then, I don't remember exactly what it was, I posted something good (probably something I heard from someone smarter than me, which is where about 95% of anything good I say comes from) and even though he was a bit miffed at me, he gave me props. We've disagreed plenty, especially on a different thread recently, and he hasn't blocked me... yet. :1smile:

I've openly disagreed with plenty of people on this site, and I've got some pretty strong opinions, and I'm happy to share them. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I've gone against just about everyone on this thread at one point or another, and I've yet to be blocked, to my knowledge. Someone may have blocked me and I just don't know it yet.

As a matter of fact, I've downright directly insulted that poop throwing a$$hole monkey boy goillini52 on multiple occasions, and even he hasn't blocked me yet.

Just food for though. Or, as it pertains to that poop throwing monkey man, Goillini52, poop for thought.:1confused:

Not the time to prepare for Normalcy because the end is not in sight. You cannot say this is not worse than other diseases because you know nothing about this virus. We don't know if it is seasonal or not. We don't know if people develop immunity. We don't know if it stays inside your body and reactivates. We don't know the source. We don't know how it really works.

We have too little information to make any predictions or statements about how bad it is or will be. We just need to take things day by day. Make no assumptions. Learn all we can and try and slow down the spread.

Because they taste good and I like them...;)

...and I don't watch CNN, MSBC, read the Washington Post or USATODAY, I don't trust the WHO or some things FDA says.

I like to look at the numbers for myself, and I don't automatically trust someone because of their education... I've have ran into too many educated idiots that were well spoken and didn't know which end of the horse you put the bit into.

I'm sure you only get information from trusted sources such as FOX and RT.
