Reciprocal Release

A reciprocal release is a good thing. It is sad that there are FMOs, IMOs, and MGAs out there that will hold an agent hostage in a place where they don't want to be. But ultimately it is a scenario that has been created by unprofessional agents who like to bounce around from organization to organization looking for "The Next Best Thing." Most agents do the right thing, but there are always the bad apples that spoil the bunch.

A reciprocal release between organizations just opens up the industry to better facilitate the releasing of agents. It protects the releasing entity from getting screwed over by agents who leave debit balances after they leave.

Your like a fine wine...I see you have been on the forum since 2012...Any reason you did not make this comment back then when the previous post was only 6 months old instead of waiting another 3 1/2 years?

Yeah, blame it on the agents!! needing a release is an unholy alliance between the insurance companies and the IMO/FMO's.

And a reciprocal release is garbage too. An upfront open release is ideal. Absent any debt the agent should be free to work for whomever he damn well pleases. And should be able to change IMO's as often as he damn well pleases. Whether it's the next best thing or not should be the agent's opinion. Not what some FOS marketer tells him.

Sounds like Senior Market Sales. They won't release any agent, they don't care if you've written business ever or not, they are asses.
