Securus Lead's Question!!!

I have a Friend (and I promise it's not me) who contracted with Securus . They gave him a 70% Contract in the hopes that he would build a team of People.

He Purchased 100 $10.00 Leads from them to this date has made 0 sales from that purchase.

He then purchased some of the $21 leads he got back 20 or so on that order. On the 2nd set of leads he made about $3,000 or so in commission.

Now I know what you are thinking he should just be happy with the $3k, but I am a little pissed that they could sell him 100 leads that were well let's just say ****! He spent $1,000 BUCKS!!!

My Question is this: Does anyone know if they will cut him a break if he complains about those old ass leads they sold him? In other words can he get some of his money Back?:skeptical:

Good chance they won't cut him any break, why would they?

The fact that he didn't sell anything out of the 100 leads doesn't mean they were junk. Maybe they were, but in and of itself that statistic doesn't shed any light on anything. One could easily argue (and possibly be right) that after he worked 100 leads he was better prepared to work the newer leads.

Well let me add this Josh, I have been in the insurance industry for almost ten years now...he is new and I went out to help him, those 100 leads I can assure you were TRASH!....the other leads he got were great I closed most of his deals and just let him watch me...but I am sorry I have been doing this to long 100 leads and not one sale...shoot even for a Fool you can stumble on one sale Josh.....I don't know man I feel like they took advantage of him...Now I could be wrong....but it seems weird to ask people for $1,000 and they not make a single sale???

He is new to final expense and I was a trainer with another company and I train agents....so he is fine now....but I think they should give him back some of his $1k...(fat chance huh?):err:

I can't imagine that they would refend anything. he bougt the leads for $10 because they were old already worked leads. He had to know that when he bought them. That is a very high price for leads like that. EFES sells those old leads for $3 each or less if you bargain upfront. They won't let you bargain after you have worked them.

I do agree that even a novice should have sold something on 100 leads. I would think you could go up to 100 people and say, "you don't wanna buy any insurance do you?" and at least one would say, 'why, yes, I do!":twitchy:

But, there a guy in my area that got with EFES and bouhgt 50 leads at full price and did not make a single sale. He blamed the leads. This was an agent that had been in the business for over 10 years. After he left EFES they gave me his leads. I believe I made 5 sales on them. He had almost a half page of notes on everyone of them explaining why the person wasn't going to buy.

I think your friend is SOL on getting a break on leads he agreed to buy.

He's in the wrong downline.

How old is old? I'm working 4-6 month old Securus leads and have had great success with them. Takes an experienced sales person though.

Dump the upline and go with Efes. Or try to see if he can get recontracted with someone else at Securus.

Not a chance. It would set a terrible precedent if they start refunding leads that an agent doesn't sell.

The response you can give is dump the upline???:nah:

His upline is in another state and he has an experienced sales person. Me....as I said he is fine now...I was just talking about the 100 leads they sold him to start....jezzzz

Looks like he got the newbie shuffle. The first chapter in insurance 101. Keep others out of your back pocket. Who ever talk him into spending that money is no friend of his.

Not to be a doubting Thomas, and not that it much matters, but how can you "assure me" they were "TRASH!"? What is the basis for the assurance?

A rookie agent worked 100 old leads and didn't get a sale.

A rookie agent, after working 100 old leads, ended up learning to sell and made some money working newer leads.

I don't trust rookie agents to judge the quality of a lead. Many experienced agents have a hard time knowing the difference between a good FE lead and a bad FE lead.

So for the sake of discussion, what makes you so convinced that these were complete "TRASH!"?

Re-read my post.

I gave you advice you can take to your "experienced" salesperson friend.

First of all, your buddy is getting boinked big-time, mainly on the excuse of a "contract" he agreed to, and didn't thoroughly research.

Bottom line, 70% sucks. That was his first mistake. My invaluable advice is to dump his upline and find an IMO that will give better contracts. Say, 85% plus as a starting point.

Secondly, if he really was a decent salesperson, and assuming he didn't buy leads in Beverly Hills or some affluent neighborhood, if he properly worked the leads, he should have made AT LEAST a few sales.

The litmus test?

-Did he door knock every... single... one? Did he ask each door knock to come in and review their current policies to see if he can get them better coverage?
-Did he call every... single... one and attempt to set appointments with them?
-Did he at LEAST get in 40 presentations (an experienced salesperson should be converting AT LEAST 4 presentations for every 10 leads.

I've worked "old" Securus leads that other agents from other FMOs have worked over the past 6 months. There's gold in those leads if you know what you're doing (operative term).

Like I said. Instead of asking for a refund, ask for a new upline who can help him both with lead issues AND sales/prospecting skills. It'll be far more worth than the grand he lost due to "****" leads.
