Setting Appointments or Door Knocking

Always preferred set appointments. Nothing better than having 5-10 people scheduled to see on a field day. You know you're going to write business.

I always preferred calling to set the appointment, but if you are brand new, you would probably do better by door knocking to begin with.

For those of you who have done both, which do you prefer and why?
I'm a door knocker. I've canvassed and cold door knocked a targeted list. I've also cold called on the phone. I like both, but early on, it was easier to door knock. Too easy to hang the phone up on you, plus you learn to think on your feet when door knocking. Plus, door knocking is coool.

I know you're talking DM leads. Why not call on the phone, and the one's you don't set an appointment with, door knock(even if they said no on the phone...they won't remember that they talked to you).

I'm like you in that I have canvassed cold and door knocked a lot. Unlike you I am now a confirmed appointment setter, but to each their own.

I think the above quote is great advice for anyone who is questioning things though.
