Single Product Website or Multiple?

Do you mean from only the SEO driven leads from their web site ?

Is this mainly because the consumer is more focused and perceives the person they are dealing with a specialist

I meant leads from the website in general. I know a few that do ppc in addition to SEO. But most that I know seem to focus on organic SEO more than anything.

Did you focus on annuities nationally because retirement plans and business benefits are more suited locally and/or face to face ?

Yes, that is part of the reason. But it is also about perception and relevance. My business clients could care less if I sell annuities... it has no bearing on my benefits business and no real relation other than some of the licensing required.
So it makes zero sense for me to combine the two on the same site imo. I also want to be perceived as a true specialist when it comes to the retirement plans and benefits.

Also, the benefits I want to do local SEO for. The annuities I want national SEO.

Do you think it is more a matter of consumer experience and focus as to not combine the products on to one site ?

Partly. Especially if the products are not related very well. If people are seriously researching something, I think they are more drawn to a site dedicated to a single subject vs. a multi subject site.

Even subconsciously, I think they perceive a single subject site as being more authoritative and having more comprehensive info.

Just off the cuff..... which sounds like it would have the most info.... a whole website or just a section of a website?

If you are looking for info on a major purchase, dont you want the most info possible?

Since I don't know exactly how the SEO is done and have heard various things, I have been wondering from an SEO standpoint only if there is a difference in effectiveness of the SEO having national and local SEO on 1 website.

Or is it better having 2 websites, one for local and one for national. Possibly there is a lack of conflict or some other SEO related reason.

To me a whole dedicated site.

This does seem ideal.
