The Master Plan

There is some hope . . .

If Rep's take control of both houses (which is possible), or even just the House (very likely), AND if they do what they were elected to do (which is turn the country around) we have a chance.

Our focus is on health insurance and not just what it does to our livelihood but how this change will affect everyone and it won't be for the good. The even bigger picture is where the economy is headed (in spite of talk of improvement) and deficit spending.

DC has got to cut back and do so quickly. The target area needs to be entitlements which are totally out of control. That will not be a popular cut but they have to look beyond that.

Cut's in Medicare and SS are already planned. Those need to be tempered if not eliminated. I see no reason in further punishing those who have worked most of their life to accrue benefits only to see them stripped away.

Expanding Medicaid and SCHIP is a big mistake on so many fronts. Same for extended unemployment and COBRA subsidies. The tax credits for health insurance in Obamacare need to be eliminated. This includes businesses and individuals.

If Congress quits giving away money for stupid projects and vote buying schemes we can get on track rather quickly. I heard a good analogy a few days ago in regard to the federal budget.

People who have credit problems usually didn't get there because of something major. Most got in trouble by making smaller purchases and never paying them off but just making the minimum payment.

Congress is doing the exact same thing.

They need to immediately eliminate special grants and funding for things like poems about conservation ($1,000,000). The little things add up in DC just like they do for you and me.

Mix in some major cuts along with eliminating "fraud, waste and abuse" . . . and we have a good start.

Obamacare can be choked off by cutting the funding for it and that can happen starting next year. It can be repealed in pieces, leaving the good (like the national risk pool but NOT at the proposed funding levels) and tossing the stuff that is unconstitutional and just plain stupid.

Exactly what I'm hoping for Chumps!

You don't seem to grasp the necessity of the cuts. If they cut the elderly, who have very few voting years left, and give free stuff to the younger people who have many voting years left, they can move the country forward with a lazy entitlement generation.

I have a guy right now that is benefiting from the Cobra Subsidy and enjoying unemployment benefits. He called me from Florida, while on vacation with his parents, just to shoot the bull. No wife or children, just living the dream with government assistance. If he gets an extension, he can enjoy a little mid life retirement at 29.

Well...Last week we had sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s and 80s. AND...The Reds were 5-2!

Back to reality. It got down to the 30s two nights ago and right now it's about 50 degrees.

Oh yea...The Reds are now 5-7.
