This Upcoming AEP

Is the Medicare Advantage open-enrollment period overlapping the ObamaCare open-enrollment timeframe this year? BCBS is asking if we want to certify for 2014 M.A. sales. Doing both simultaneously would be impossible wouldn't it?

MA AEP is Oct 15th - Dec 7th

Definitely going to suck.

Its going to be great. All the debbie downers need to get a grip. Sure, Oct 15 to Jan 15 is going to be a beating. We are the ones who have hung on and everyone is going to write new clients and make more money.

I would rather be in this business than any other.

If you don't want the OEP beating, go start a new career. With a friggin boss, a place you have to go to everyday and work with jerks you have to be nice to. I will be at home, making money.

Russell may be right, this document that I found in this article references on page 8 that notices are required to be sent out to policyholders by Oct 1st notifying them of OEP and "redetermination". Oh, and don't forget page 6 talking about 25k to 250k civil monetary penalties for lying on your application. Things just got serious.

What if you lie to a PPACA exchange? | LifeHealthPro

In theory, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) could impose a maximum penalty of $250,000 per exchange application "for any person who knowingly and willfully provides false information."

HHS could also impose a $25,000 penalty on "any person who fails to provide correct information, where such failure is attributable to negligence or disregard of any rules or regulations of the [HHS] secretary," and on any person who "knowingly or willfully uses or discloses" private exchange information.

Normally, subsidies that are based on annual earnings are redetermined annually. The reports that subsidies are already 60% above what the CBO estimated for 2014, and the fact that a lot of fraud is suspected will put pressure on them to make everyone freshen their app. However, I expect them to delay (err, I mean offer transitional relief) until April 15th, until every current subsidy recipient has completed the cycle and reconciled their subsidy with their tax return.

You say that like you expect people to come to Jesus on the 15th. My money says they won't fess up until prodded by the IRS cops
