TransAmerica Update

Right...you can make it legal but you can't make it healthy.
Correct - I'll just go with whatever the carrier says in black and white I guess. They specifically took the time to write marijuana on their underwriting guide for a reason

It says on page 20/24 of the underwriting guide - Marijuana use within 2 years is Graded and within 4 years is standard
So, if I used Marijuana 1 year ago, I am GRADED because it is within 2 years? Or...
If I used Marijuana 1 year ago, I am Standard, because it is within 4 years? Or am I both, or neither, or is it my choice?

Depends on how the meeting went that morning.

You would have to call Transamerica and ask. If you do not get the answer you want, call back in and you will get a different answer!

Read it as Standard if you have used within 4 years, but go to Graded if you've used within the last 2 years

hahaha guess it's up to you

Hmm... have you worked with these guys very long. :skeptical:

I've called in the same day on the same case and received two different answers.
Only 5 years - happy to be done with paper apps! But yes, they are an interesting carrier and must have a relatively high turn over rate - I always call back and make sure I get a more seasoned rep to talk too. I control the conversation and general tell them what needs to be done LOL

All these underwriting questions are hilarious. Ya'll know they will in some cases still issue an amendment even if you do everything right, right?

My advice... find a better carrier.
