UHL is going to age last birthday instead of nearest birthday.. The change is already effective in Tennessee and some other states. IO just ran a couple of rates using UHL's rate calculator. Seems they not only chang3ed teh age calculation but had an across the board rate increase on NTU. Premier plan male age 65NT went from $52.82 per month to $56.26 per month. Female age 65. $38.19 to $42.45.

Nicotine rates at age 65 dropped.. Male $95.22 to $84.49
Female... $67.80 to $58.34.

Since there are more NTU than TU out there these changes sure do not make them more competitive overall. Think they are taking their cue from LH.

Word of caution if you are using FEXquotes.. They are still showing the old rates.

I just got hit on that last night.

Quoted him $118. in LA then went on the UHL site to get a LA app and decided to run a Quote for the file. ooops, $136.

I will need to look at my options He is a bit heavy and I need to do it by email.

Mark, I received that so I thought I would check some rates. On all the NTU that I checked, the rates went up. TU rates were down. Perhaps there are some that went the other way. Will be easier to find out and just where they will fit with other companies when Adam updates the FEXquote engine.

This hasn't changed since I have been in the business (1997). In fact, with the economy the way it is more and more are broke and living paycheck to paycheck..even the college educated. I would get used to what you are doing or simply go with a much better carrier then dealing with SL or LH.....welcome to chargeback city...enjoy the ride:laugh::no:

I am not a fan of UHL in the first place. There is no niche for the agent IMHO and what company would put a limit on the amount of GI coverage you can write?
Man, I'm sooo confused on your response to me? I didn't say anything about chargeback with SL? I'm not appt'd with LH?

See, the problem that most agents fail to realize is that chargebacks have nothing to do with the carrier. That's what's so amusing about the LH and SL bashing. I wrote with LH and had great business as an agent AND as an agency. I have the same thing with SL. It's not the carrier or their rates. It's the agent that cause's chargebacks.

But that will fall on deaf ears on this Forum. There are to many great producers on here where their "success' rely's on the carrier and not their sales ability.;)
