Vantis Life Contract Offer...

Why M o O ? I see you are particular about what GI companies you sell for, but as a new agent to insurance and selling FE I cant be as choosey. My question is if you HAD to write a GI policy which company/companies would you consider?

Thanks

Most agree Gerber has the best rates and commissions right now.

Just for clarfication, my post was in response to post 14 of in this thread. thanks

Since you said this was about my post, I am not particular about what GI companies I sell for since I don't sell any GI stuff.

I sell less than a handful of ROP per year and that's only when they fall into AmCon's niche and the price is close to MoO. Even then I give the client the number to MoO if they don't think having an agent is worth $3-5 per month.

No one beats MoO with any regularity and I just can't justify putting people at an overpriced product.

Vantis is close to MoO's rates and I was going to contract with them until I saw the restrictive chargeback provisions and they expect the agent to take all the risk with very little reward.

I do refer those to Newby now instead of to MoO. Except when Vantis is higher priced than MoO.

I don't think that the GI products are good business for me with the way they are sold and priced. There was a time when I might have carried the MoO if it was available to agent to sell but that day has passed. I llok at MoO now the same way I do Humana. They both have theor place but that place is not with me writing them.

That's the great thing about being independent. I can chose who I will write or not write.

From what Iam seeing, independent is the way to go and it helps that you write a helluva lot AP to be able to turn down business. Its a problem I wish I had.

Thanks for the response. But beside Gerber, what else do you have in your toolbox?

I don't want to ever turn down golod business. I just don't think GI stuff falls into that category.

I didn't know about MoO's deal several years ago. I did write a few LH modified plans before they changed it to 15 pay and made it too expensive.

About 6 years ago I wrote a Chesapeake ROP for a guy only to have him drop it a couple of months later. When I checked to see why it was because he had bought MoO through the mail at a much better price. That was my intoduction to MoO's GI. I found that they wouldn't let me sell it even though I was contracted with them for med sups.

Referring out the GI has gotten me much more business than it's cost me. I was just referred today to a healthy couple by a lady that I sent to MoO. Maybe she would have referred me anyway if I had put her with an overpriced product but I don't think she would have.

I apologize if my postings are not flowing as coherently as they should be. Thanks

4Real, to answer your question, there is Gerber, Vantis, Kemper, and Mutual. Since you can't sell Mutual, that leaves 3 choices. If EFES does not have any of those products, then pick up the contract elsewhere.

I'm like JD, I don't like Vantis' chargeback policy. I think Gerber is the better one to pick up.

Is 4real with EFES? If so then he will have limited choices of GI anyway. Americo and Kemper are about it.

That's what I was assuming from his post (#32). I didn't know EFES had Kemper.

So, there you go 4Real, sounds like Kemper is your company.

Americo isn't even in the ballgame with GI. The are WAY to high on premiums and WAY too low on commissions.

Hey Guys I appreciate the feedback! You answer most of my questions before I even know I should be asking them.

Thanks
