ACA Express -vs- HealthSherpa

Now as we near Nov 1st Im curious if more agents are leaning towards Sherpa or Express, I understand Enrollme is no longer an option. YOur thoughts?

----------

It appears to me that from the consumer facing side the transition from aca express and sherpa to healthcare.gov are both alike. I dont know whats it like once you get done on the other end and return to the Web broker side but from the consumer facing side moving towards the point where it carries you to health care .gov looks the same. From the client quote site sherpa looks a little snapier and less cluttered. BUT, ACA express actually will get back to you and they have the online chat for help, all i find for sherpa is an email address which a lot of agents here already noted they might hear back in a few days or not. Then there is the big item several agents have complained where their clients have ended up with sherpa as the AOR. Sherpa is a couple $ cheaper but not enough to offset the other issues, Express seems to offer more agent tools and I cant seem to find anyway you can deselect carriers with sherpa you might not be appointed with.

Id like to from the experience of others here, just from what Ive noted above though I like Sherpa's cleaner consumer facing side that fact i cant find a phone number for them plus the occasional AOR matter would alone push me towards Express

I write several hundred enrollment applications each year. Joe Stevens writes about 500,000.

When he talks, I listen. It sounds like ACAExpress is in the lead right now.

how is their enrollment tool for products other than Health, like CI, Acc??

From the training and from talking to their reps it appears to be as easy as a click of a button to add the ancillary products on. I have not done it personally so I can't say either way but looks to be very user friendly

I submitted 500,000

10 of which were from Ohio, which was 90% of the state production. Out of those in Ohio 2 paid their initial and ongoing premium, both heavy smokers in need of care.

I highly recommend the Ohio market.

They say Cincinnati will be the next Laguna Beach (or similar).

Looking at these 3; Express, Sherpa & My1Hr, I noticed a couple of things different with each platform that has left me with some concern Id like to see here if anyone else agrees or disagrees and if so why, or maybe Im not using it correctly or missed something.

Customer Service:
Sherpa ranks 3rd, if you can even call it customer service. No phone number, and maybe a reply to an email, but probably not. This is very worrisome to me.

Mobile Friendly: Mobile ready, sherpa, Express then 1Hr, but Sherpa clearly is tops in this category, though Express is good, 1Hr is 3 rd on my list only because the input form is not mobile ready and uses the standard web based form with a mobile device. However with Express on the initial screen, Ive noticed the Zip Code input box sometimes delays on popping up, and on a Samsung Notepad I just tried it on, the zip code input box never came up at all even after an extended delay.

Most important
however of all my concerns is where Express captures the prospects name and phone very early in the process, Sherpa does not at all, and My1Hr will but it is optional from their input screen.

So if a prospect begins but does not proceed to start an app at least with Express I now have some lead/contact data to work with where as with My1Hr I may or may not, and with Sherpa I definitely dont. This 3rd and final category is significant enough to persuade my choice of which platform to use or not to use, I think unless someone can give me a better reason.

Anyone have a different experience or point out what I might have overlooked or am missing, please share.

I have used Health Sherpa since day one. While I agree there customer service leaves a lot to be desired they do have a fmo number now and I have called it and was able to speak to a live person.
I have individuals enroll on line without problems. I did use ACA express last year for a time when Sherpa was having some issues. It was okay but I thought Sherpa was easier to navigate on the agent side.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one and it gets down to comfort level.
Sherpa fee is $5.00 per app which is less than ACA if you are enrolling a lot of individuals.

Not all of us drive a Chevy or a Ford or Toyota. It really gets down to what you feel comfortable with and what you can afford. My two cents Ill stay with Sherpa.

Bingo... you hit the nail on the head.... I have been deeply thinking about this for the last week, who is my point product... who and I gonna go with come 2 weeks from now..... I have set the max at $5 bucks.... If I pay more than 5 I'm just gonna have to pass.... I will NOT pay 10 bucks, 9 bucks 8 bucks or 7 bucks. 5 is it.

Both systems are great and fact of the matter i know and like Kenny West, owner of ACA Express but I run a business too and I gotta control the money going out.

In closing, If there is some feature like teeing up a client driven enrollment and I have very little to do to process the enrollment then I MAY reconsider the max price I will pay however without some trick feature I will just keep the 5 bucks max in my enrollment budget.

We are less than 2 weeks out, I will be making a decision on my WEB by like Wednesday of next week so we shall see but I am NOT coming off the max 5 bucks unless the WBE offers a trick I MUST HAVE
