Breaking - UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson shot and killed outside Manhattan Hilton hotel

And according to his own source, over 35% of MAPD beneficiaries make over $25k. 32% make over $40k.

Not good at math or taxes, huh?

The statement was that "they still pay for it through taxes"… for the overwhelming majority of MAPD beneficiaries that's not true. And even for those that do pay into larger majority when you consider the subsidy they receive versus what they may pay in taxes since most won't pay FICA because their income is unearned, and most will have little income over the threshold.

So it's not true that they still pay for it. Especially my MAPD clients.

Retirees pay taxes.

Social Security is taxed at the Federal level.
85% to be exact, is taxed if combined income is over $25k.

IRA distributions are taxed at the Federal level.

Ever heard of RMDs? The government literally forces IRA distributions for the reason of taxes.

Retirees pay plenty of taxes, unless they are destitute.

And those taxes help pay the $500,000,000,000 in tax subsidies given to MAPD carriers to reduce Premiums.

They only pay taxes on income over half of their social security plus any additional income. Only half of beneficiaries have a pension and the average private pension is $11k a year. The average soc sec is 1900. So the average beneficiary does not pay taxes on their income taxes at all. And even those that do contribute very little towards Medicare since part A is funded by FICA retirement benefits aren't subject to, and only 74% of part b is funded by general revenues. So those that do pay pay very very little towards Medicare.

Most paid before they retired and many still pay taxes after retirement. And because they still need B (unless dual eligible or have medicaid "lite") as you just stated yourself 3/4 of that comes out of general tax funds which many retirees are still paying into.

Don't move the goalposts. They statement is that that ARE PAYING CURRENTLY… not that they paid into the system. Those payments didn't go into a savings account with their name on it anyway. It paid for benefits of beneficiaries at that time.

And some are currently paying even if none of your clients are.

The average before tax income for a retired couple in the US is over $90k per year. Median is over $50k.

Anyone who thinks that retirees pay no taxes, is living in a fantasy world. Its the #2 worry people cite for their retirement, right after outliving their assets.

And just to be clear, I never meant that MAPD beneficiaries pay for the entire premium through taxes necessarily. Some do, some dont.

My point, is that "free" or "cheap" is not truly free or cheap. And most do not realize the low price is due to tax dollars subsidizing the cost.

But everyone is paying for it in the general sense, that our entire nation is paying for it.

To get real, the current retired generation is passing much of the cost down to their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They got their cake already...

Taxes pay for the low premiums of MAPD. Half a trillion a year.

Back the the subject at hand. UHC CEO assassination update:

In addition to multiple images and video, they now have:

His backpack with jacket inside
(a few news outlets said it had monopoly money inside, not sure how accurate that is)

DNA from discarded water bottle

Partial fingerprint

Discarded burner phone

Shell casings with words (deny, delay, depose)

And police are searching a pond in central park for the weapon.

---

We also now know why he racked his gun after each shot, it was a specialized weapon designed in WW2 for silent operation.

Multiple experts have said he does not seem like a professional based on the operation of the weapon, and the stance and movements when shooting.

(a true pro would have used a revolver, or self made un-traceable rounds.... nor would they feel the need to leave casings to make a moral statement)

---

Id guess they at least have a few suspects at this point. Just not releasing that info to the public.
