Forester's Rate Increase???

Last edited:
Ok, not to change the subject away from all you recruiters comparing your co-- sizes, but I just heard Foresters IMO's/FMO's were notified by email either last Sunday or the one before, that rates either have or will be increasing very soon. Does anybody know if this will effect policies already put in place? Any word on when the indy's will be notified?

Most likely no effect on inforce polices.. It is very doubtful they require an assessment charged to the policyholders but your question serves as a reminder that it is possible with a fraternal. If it invovled an insurance company, the answer would definitely be "none"..

Those rate increases will prety much put them out of consideration for FE business by the independent agent.

Hey JD, new guy here. I've been digging around on this site for info for awhile and its clear your one of the top dogs when it comes to FE business. Which FE businesses do you think are best? FYI I'm a 5th year licensed rep out in NYC, ( I wish EFES was out here :skeptical:)
I mainly sell MAPD's for low income seniors but looking to switch over to FE ASAP lol

They were notified long before that. The rates are increasing and the application is changing.

The changes are effective end of July, so for Aug on the new rates and new underwriting will be in effect. The IMO's all say that they have been told by Foresters to not disclose the info to the agents until they do it themselves.

That must be true because every IMO/FMO says the same thing. Someone posted the rates here at the forum. I ca't vouch for the accuracy except to say that it matches what I was previously told. 2% to 13% increases. It's not one across the board increase the way a normal company would do it. It's different increases by bands.

Knowing Foresters they will probably make the announcement a week or so after the changes are implemented.

New York is a differenct cat altogether from what I've discerned from reading here.

I write RNA, Americo, AmCon, AmAm, 5 Star, Foresters, Oxford, Forethought, etc. I don't know if any of them are in NY.

Contact Josh here at the forum. He can certainly shed light on the NY market.
