History Repeating Itself?

OK. You want to stage a revolution on what principals? That the healthcare finance system is going to be changed? Bush brought us Part D and Medicare Advantage and I didn't hear you call for a revolution then.
al3,
Part d and Medicare Advantage did not threaten our livelihood..

Even someone as naive as you should see that.

Yes, you are correct Al, When people have a chance to vote, they always vote progressive .

Just like when California voted on the right for Gay's to get married.

oops, bad example........

Al, as a Libertarian I resent you assigning "conservative" to Paradigm. There is a difference between being a conservative in both social and fiscal thinking (republicrat) and being a libertarian.

With few exceptions (such as public sex), I am as socially liberal as anyone. I am in favor of gay marriage because the state should not have a say in marriage. It's a religious ceremony and the state is just there to enforce the contract. I am opposed to Roe v Wade because the Constitution does not give the feds the power to regulate abortion - however I am in favor a woman's right to choose.

I am opposed to all the bailouts, government funding of schools, massive buildup of military overseas, universal healthcare, etc. because this is not what the Constitution allows.

I am in favor of personal property rights over the rights of the government to confiscate my home to build a freeway.

Al, you need to learn the you can't lump all "conservatives" together. Just as you can't label al liberals as socialists.

You keep pointing out that conservatives are the same as slave owners in the 1700's. Many people think Jews killed Jesus. You are no more to blame for that than current southerners are to blame for slavery. Perhaps just living in the South is enough for you.

It's bad business to put down the competition because it doesn't help your company. It doesn't help your position to constantly name call those who disagree with you.

As far as a revolution, I think the masses will wake up one day. I hope it's not too late.

Winter says you folks have to be MORE conservative. Is that possible? And whom are you going to reach with an ultra-conservative message? Who wants to turn the clock back to Alabama of 1958? Anyone outside of the rural South and West? Until you allow people in the tent who agree with you only 60% of the time, you will remain a splinter party.

Al

There is nothing ultra-conservative about being fiscally responsible and not socializing major segments of the economy. Many states even have a requirement to balance their budget. Imagine that. I am sure that seems like Alabama 1958 to you from California. In reality taxpayers from Alabama will be sending dollars to bail out your "progressive" state. California is on track to become a third world country with wall to wall homeless and unemployed and a collapsed state government that can provide no services whatsoever and with state bonds that are rated as junk and the best jobs continuing to relocate to Nevada. Fortunately the rest of the country will bail you out and allow you to continue with the illusion of superiority. It is the liberal way.

You make it sound like I don't live in the best state in the union.

Look on the bright side. You still have a shot at being the best state in Mexico!

We all have our cross to bear. I live in a state with two Republican Senators - Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. Talk about what your state used to be. I am sure Arlen Spector must have a cottage on the coast up here.

I asked a black friend of mine would he have voted for Obama if he was white and he said he double toothpick no. I asked why? Because I don't know who he is.
