How long is a release supposed to take ?

He knew EXACTLY who his up line was. He is a brand new agent and not only does he know, he has met pretty much the whole company and most of my top agents in person a few weeks back. We are as transparent as it gets.

So how about those promotional guidelines? Can we get some transparency on them?

So, i was with EFES maybe like a month and a half and just decided i'd rather go with a different IMO that gives me street level commission right off the bat, i never wrote anything with EFES the whole month and a half i was with them until this week, anyways i requested a release almost 2 weeks ago I've emailed, texted, and called my upline consistently with no reply back how long is this supposed to take?

A release should only take a few days max. However, your upline should be asking, "what brings you to this decision?" Hopefully, your upline will be able to resolve any issues you may have and encourage you to stay on board. If the situation is past being saved then they should release you right away. If they do not, then the likelihood of you ever coming back is slim to none.

Most insurance companies will not accept a release signed by a lower level upline. Most require the agency/imo owner or officer of the agency/imo to sign. Anyone who says your lower level upline has to sign is not forthcoming with you because that is just their internal protocol, not the Insurance carriers.

Doug Massi has a good video about getting an upfront release (get out of jail free card) before you get in bed with an IMO. Unfortunately, even these are hard to enforce sometimes. Because the agency/imo will place stipulations in there like debit balance, lead debt, and leads that have been mailed for you but have not fully returned. Even though your new agency/imo has to accept the debt and the releasing agency/imo has other agents that will work your leads.

I find that it strains credulity to think someone could be with EFES for six weeks and not know to reach out to Ben. If the OP were 30+ instead of 19, this would likely have resolved itself the way I am sure most of these situations are resolved - fairly quickly, and with no need to take it to the forum.
Let's take away my age from this lol, I knew who my upline was it's was Jensen who I emailed, and texted this man multiple times about my release. On top of this it took almost a whole month for Jensen to get Ben to give me access to the training website so why would I reach out to Ben when you couldn't give me access to a website in less than 24 hours.

So they have to pay for the leads _and_ return them? Sounds like an upline can just choose to cause you grief. There is 'independent' and there is Independent. This forum has some power in the little insurance space it fills. However, add Facebook and LinkedIn and it gets much bigger.

Oh it only takes me 5 minutes to give access. I did not give you access because after meeting you I instantly knew you were not going to do this business. You had the worst attitude out of any person I have ever met face to face in this business. We provided free training and food and you were still coming to me begging. We all go to the restaurant and you come running to me, "This is going to be a free meal right?". How can I get leads for free?

I spent a lot of time and money on my training. Only certain agents get access. If you are broke, no work ethic and a horrible attitude, you are not getting access. When I left KC, Jensen said "What do you think about Rob?" I told him that you were not a fit for EFES and should find a new home. Everyone that met you agreed 100%.

Let's say the whole story, i met you and jensen at the "roadshow" and had explained my situation to you on a personal level, i did not have a lot of money because i burnt most of it working for bankers life and expressed i only had a list of leads i was trying to work and the first thing out of your mouth was "Doesn't matter about the leads i could take the same leads and make 5 grand right now" you only listened to reply, and when i expressed i had no money to drop for DM you lost in more interest in even talking to me. Fast forward, we get an expensive restaurant mind you a 19 year old with not a whole lot of money so i asked you, the guy who expresses he's a part owner of the company who's going to be paying for it so i know if i'm going to order i'm not going to order a lot, instead of confronting me like a man about how you felt about it you went and cried to jensen and he confronted me the next day. Quite frankly if you don't have balls to tell someone face to face what you think of them you're a weenie.

I've only wanted and gotten a release once. The 1st thing I did was call the company to see what their procedure was for getting released. They told me that my direct upline had to release me. I then called my direct upline's upline(who was the National FMO, everyone's under them), and they also told me that I needed a signed release from my direct upline. I thought he dragged his feet a bit when it took 2 days. All it was was about 2 sentences and a signature. How long does that take? 10 minutes if you're slow.

That was my only experience in getting a release, but it wasn't like you described it.

2 other times I told an FMO that I was moving my contract for a better deal, and they both matched the better offer so I didn't move my contract. Both of the FMO's would have given the releases. :)

Thanks for keeping us entertained all these years Ben!

Nobody has come close to providing the soap opera entertainment that you have. Keep up the good work!

The 360-FEX battles are still my favorite.
