How long should a new agent stay in an IMO that they think might be failing them

I doubt very few - liberal, conservative, or otherwise - support such actions. I think including those cases in one's world view of immigration leads to an out of focus view, unfortunately.

I would prefer all immigrants to come here legally. But I also wish it were as easy for them to do today as it was for my grandparents and great-grandparents. If one wants to come here and start a new life, what good does it do to have him put his name on a list and wait 10 or in some case 20 years? I'd rather let young men and women come here while they are still young enough to build American lives for themselves.

I thank God that my ancestors came to America when they did, and that I was blessed to have been born an American citizen. What a gift American citizenship has been to me. Can you blame me if I wish for others not so lucky to have been born here?
No, but they can't all come here, and they can't all come at once. It sickened me to watch that recent caravan. They climbed the fence and sat up there, basically thumbing their noses at us, like "you can't keep us out". We have to be able to protect our borders and be able to decide who gets in, not be dictated to by people who aren't even citizens.

The Dem's don't really give a sh*t about the illegal immigrants. They just see them as future votes.

I guess I'm a little more tolerant of the immigrant's plight is all. I was four years old when my great-grandmother died. The last words she spoke to me (true story) as I tried to unplug the funny looking machine she was hooked up to at the hospital were "Nein! Das ist verboten!" She came here in 1927 from a part of Germany that had had been excised from Germany to form Czechoslovakia after World War One. She lived here nearly 50 years before passing, and did not learn enough English to carry on a conversation. My grandmother (her daughter) did not learn to speak Englsih until she went to public school. That was not very much different from current day experiences, and it probably always has been and always will be: The adult immigrant will often struggle to learn much if any of the English language, while the children will be fluent in both. I think the "well they should learn English" attitude is also likely common at all times, and will always be so.

Most of the "problems" with respect to immigration can be traced to our prejudices, imho.

Jesus would just open his arms and love them, so that is good enough for me. I try not to pass judgment, though I often fail.

I thought you might. But I would guess you don't think much of the rest of it, right Monkey?
I can't speak for Jesus but he did teach that the laws were to b obeyed..

It is not our place to solve those problems...It is up to them to stand up and create the kind of country they want.. My folks fought a war right here in my home county in 1946 because of a corrupt government.. Would have been much easier to move to Georgia.

Battle of Athens (1946) - Wikipedia

I didn't say it was our place?

But so let me get this straight. You want a bunch of poor uneducated people to band together and take on the cartels (which the US has trouble with themselves), overthrow their corrupt politicians and military, and create a better country.

That would create a war zone and then guess what? They are all coming here to escape. Haha.

There was at one point a documentary on Netflix about a small community that armed themselves to fight the cartels. It worked for a bit. Then the leader got bought out by the cartel. Then he ended up murdered. I can't remember the name of the documentary.

I'm not going to quote every post because I'm on mobile but some of the stuff being said in this thread is nothing but scare tactics.

Pretty sure you are talking about Papa Smurf. What happened to Dr. Mireles was a shame

I wonder what % of agencies/imos won't sign a release? I understand for the ones that have invested thousands in leads for the agent and needs to be reimbursed back, but what about the ones that just signed the agent up with contracting, did nothing else and just won't release? Would be helpful to have a thread of agencies that won't release for the new guys to see.

Mexicans are not coming here to get on the system. They come for the same reasons all of our ancestors came: freedom from corrupt government & opportunity.

I live in Southern California where I am a minority as a white person. & I will be the first to say Mexicans (& other immigrants) are the hardest working people I've EVER seen.

We have a lot of pan handlers here & I have NEVER seen a Latino begging on the side of the road. Anytime I see a Latino at the side of the road they are selling something instead of asking for a hand out like other races do. & I have NEVER seen a person other than Latinos actually selling something on the side of the road.

Awhile back I went to a professional sports game in LA. There were tons of Latinos in the parking lot selling everything you can think of. Then LITERALLY right next to them there were people of other races begging for money.

I live in the Central Valley, the bread basket of world. Not a lot of blue eyes or blond hair in the fields, on construction crews, working in the kitchens. I do have clients with their grown sons and daughters that 'cannot find a good job' living at home.

I am in favor of a closed border. However, I am also in favor of truth.

You just are not going to see Brian or Brittany in the fields. Living off mom or grandma? Maybe, but not working like a Mexican.

While my grandparents came from Mexico and we all spent a summer or two working the fields. We as a family figured out very quickly that was not our route. But we appreciate that that is honest work.

I say we trade X Country a dozen Brians and Brittanys for one hard working Juan or Maria.

Yep, that's why I couldn't give you a Like. I'm fine with legal immigration. It's illegal immigration that I have a problem with....and sanctuary cities and their mayors...and left wing Federal Judges...and judges who let convicted felons sneak out the back door of the courthouse, rather than turn them over to ICE, so they're free to rape and kill again...and Libs.
Sure seems that the majority of active shooters have been native born. Mass rapist, the same. School shooters? Most look like they could be related.

Agreed on the caravan.

Disagree on the Republican Democrat thing. Two sides of the same coin. I think a reread of 1984 may be in order.

But there sure are a lot of parents that no longer have their kids because of a person that wasn't supposed to be here. Once is one time too many. Kate Steinle, for example.
