IMO Questions

There are a few good IMO's that offer training and leads. Quite a few more that offer training but no leads except for help with sending your own mail.

What would be the average cost I should expect and which IMO'S would offer both training and leads? Are you talking about EFES, NAA, SECERUS, etc.?

NAA is not really an IMO for FE. They have FE as a sideline. In my opinion EFES is the best thing going for the independent producer that does FE fulltime. It is not for the person that wants to build an agency nor is it for the person that only dabbles in FE.

It also varies greatly by the management team to get with. The start up costs and beginning lead costs are also set by the manager that you start with. After 90 days your lead costs are determined by your production. The best you can do is $11 per lead. That is very hard to get to and very few agents get to that level. The last time I asked, and it's been quite some time since I asked, the agerage being paid was $19 per lead.

I don't know about the Securus deal other than you do have to pay for the leads up front before receiving them. I would surmise that Securus is also dependent on the manager you get with. I know of a couple teriffic FE producers that are with Securus.

There seems to be many more IMO's that offer training and leads. I get emails every week from the "next big thing". I delete all those so I can't say who they are. Carolina Insurance Marketing, {CIM}, is one that I worked with in the past and they were pretty good to deal with. I don't know what they offer today.

Ok I'm wanting to get started selling FE part time and move it to full time later. Been reading posts on here for sometime and it has got me nervous about selecting an IMO. My question is if I choose an IMO and get contracted with MOO or Foresters and things don't work out and I want a release but the IMO will not grant a release can I move to another IMO and get contracted with other carriers? My concerns are from reading all the posts about IMO's not granting releases, lead debt, chargebacks, etc. Would I be better off starting captive since I would be a rookie at insurance? Thanks.

Not being able to sell MOO and Forresters would be about as bad for an FE agent as not being able to download Yoko Ono's greatest hits on my iPhone.

JD is giving you sound advice, Efes is a good direction as long as you get on the right team. Now if you are broke and don't have any start up money. LH is an alternative, of last resort. LH is not captive. If hoosier daddies is putting on agents go with him, second choice would be joe ciaccio in fla, both with Efes.

There are many good managers within the EFES system. While I believe that travis is the best, and he is also one of my best friends in the world, it is not always possible to just pick him to be your manager.

What a person wants is have as few people betwenn them and the RD as possible. I'm direct to Travis. That is the ideal situation to be direct to the RD. Again that is not always possible. Say if I were to recruit. It wouldn't be a bad deal to be under me since I'm direct to the RD. Where you would not want to be is under someone that's under me or,even worse, under the agent that steps under me. When you get 2 and 3 layers under the RD then your ability to move up in contracts is diminished.

I get it. I just picked two companies to use an an example.

Start up money is an issue which is why I have to start part time and then transition to full time.

I don't know anything about Emes but I do know that Securus has both leads and training. Their training program is really good and they do heavily promote and teach you to create your own leads. You can take a look at their back office and deceide for yourself as to whether or not you think their program would be helpful to get you off to a good start. Naa has leads also. Although I learned a tremendous amount of information from my upline, they did not have a formal training program.

How would I get to see their back office without signing up??
