The 16 are doing well lol. I do my recruiting a little different. Most of the agents I have were referred by a current agent. I don't run very many adds or do mass recruiting so my retention seems to be a little higher because of the words of mouth referrals.

The problem isn't my retention its the volume. Recruiting the way I do is a slow process and most agents don't have a life license when I first talk to them. The trick is trying to keep the retention and increase the volume.

Something I have quite figured out just yet :)

Wrong answer.

You are better off getting a few and keeping them rather than masses and turning them over. Both your heart and your pocketbook will thank you for it. The only way to get masses is to hire anyone with a pulse, it is a stressful way to make a living.

I'll 2nd that one! It can get :goofy:

Just curious, of the 7 agents that did not make it with you what type of debt did they leave with? This is not a poke at LH just curious.

I was reading a thread today and without quoting you word for word you stated somewhat that an agent's chargebacks are 100% his doing and has nothing to do with the product or company he is selling. Did I misinterpret your post or do you really believe that?

Not chargebacks so much but persistency. But either way...yes. It falls on the agent 90% of the time. I'm stating that by personal fact.

I agree. Concerning recruiting and building a team, quality outweighs quantity everytime.
Hey there..What company do you rep?

No not a requirement ..... but recommended!!! The requirements are similar to that of a US Congressman :)

You really should shoot for the Senate as the pay scale is higher plus 3 times as long between elections.

Well my opinion, some things are a mystery! It is like love I guess, no rhyme or reason why.
You are a giver and I heard that people like you somehow end up receiving that overflow. So keep up the good job, GMDM100k!

Are you stating this because the agent may not stay in touch with the insured? IYO, what can the agent do to keep from losing this business 90% of the time?

One thing the agent can definitely improve retention by simply going to see the client when he gets a late or lapse notice. You would be surprised how many times agents do not follow up when they receive these notices.. Especially if the policy is 13+ months old.. It is as if they think they only make money by writing new apps and then they throw up their hands and surrender the greatest potential source of new business they have.. current clients..

I cannot tell you how many times I have gone on conservation calls, saved the policy someone was replacing and then wrote new business while I was there. And, in 99% of those cases another agent was never able to get in the house to talk to them from that day forward.
