Talked to a 63 year old with a Medicare supplement from Humana. She will soon be paying almost $900 monthly. Asked me about a MAPD but the problem is she has cancer and is having chemo. She will have to pay 20% with a MAPD. She said she just cannot afford tp pay the premium any longer but she will have some medical cost if she changes. What should she do?

900 monthly is just under $11k, if she cant find a MAPD with a MOOP at least a few thousand less than that, someting is wrong.

So could you save her money by putting her on an MAPD for 2 years and then put her back in the Medigap/PDP world at less cost when she turns 65?

If she goes on MAPD there is no way she will live an additional 2 years. Should go Med Sup no matter what the cost.
