Monumental Direct Mail Drop

Rookie question here; why would one mail house get quicker returns over another mail house, if the drop was made on the exact same day? I can think of certain variables, but not sure how the quality of the mail house has anything to do with it. Quality of the mailer?

I am curious also. Aren't these all pretty much the same mailing piece? Being mailed to the same people?

Monumental has a very very slow system... one week you place the order, the next week they take the order and then a week later they process and mail the order... 4 to 5 weeks after placing the order you start getting leads...

Target is almost as slow...

Lead connection actually takes your order, processes it and mails out the leads a couple of days later so you see returns about 2 weeks later...

Monumental makes their drops once every two weeks. If you order right before they do their drop then it will certainly seem much quicker.

The key to this is to always have your orders in. This doesn't just apply to Monumental, but all lead companies. You can do an order here and there randomly and expect to have a constant flow. If you want a constant flow of leads, then order contantly.

Ok, it has been over two full business weeks now, and still not one return lead from my Monumental mail drop. Wow! Is this a record? A zero rate of return.

From the day they do the drop? Anyone else have it take this long to get anything back from Monumental? Seems like 4 to 6 weeks from the time of mailing is an awful long time to not even get a single return.

It's been 5 years since I did my own mail but it was about 4 to 5 weeks to get them starting to come back in. Usually 8 to 10 weeks to get all of the ones from a drop. That's why you have to keep the pipeline full and mail every week. That way they always come in.

Terrible way to work in my opinion. That's why I stopped.

You have to keep other prospecting going. Do not sit by the mailbox or phone waiting for someone to mail or call.

Thanks for all the wisdom everyone. Much appreciated. I agree with JD, doesn't seem like a good system. I am thinking it would be better to be with an IMO that charges by the DM lead, rather than just doing a mail drop and praying for a decent (or any) return.
