My Medicare Advantage Experience Thus Far...

I was doing no comparison to FE. You don't have to take is so personally.

They aren't real until someone who has done it for as long as you say, proves it. Projections are exactly what they are, projections. How many projections don't work out? A lot.

when I see a number like 10,000 a month in renewals I have to ask myself these questions.

OH yea how many of your guys are making thousands in renewals lol you are 3 years in the business yourself right?

I've always been straightforward about my background, I did over 300k with Matt's organization and yes with Matt's help in my first year in this business, so I think I might understand a little bit about how FE works and how the numbers pan out. I will tell you that we have numerous agents writing 15 - 20 plans per month in addition to maintaining their FE business, this is based on the program that I helped create. Those same new agents will write between 2500 and 3000 applications this year even if we don't add another person.

We also have numerous agents that have been writing Med Supp and MA for years before I even got involved that I know are making way more than 10k per month in renewals. I'm not sure if any of them feel the need or want to prove their manhood to you, but it doesn't really matter does it? If it's not for you great, don't do it.

I'm looking at a captive market of 60 million people that's going to grow to 90 million people over the next 15 years that need our help. There's also a massive shortage of trained agents out there that really understand the plans and are licensed with multiple carriers in order to really put the beneficiary in the best possible place, whether that is a Med Supp or an MAPD. We as FE agents are already in those households and have already paid for those leads, I for one want to make sure we can help them out and yes enable the agents and the IMO to make a few extra bucks.

I honestly dont have a dog in the fight, I could care less what any of you do. And I seriously wish you the best of luck. I hope Im wrong.

The chances are however that I am right. This seems to me to be the "new thing".

When I first got into telesales, just about everyone told me it couldnt be done. I went out to prove them wrong, and for the most part, we have.

I honestly hope you prove me wrong.

Nothing last forever mate. You're telling me this can't be done, I'm telling you it can be done. Same thing that happened with Telesales, I completely agree, there's many that say it can't be done and you're coining it while they are missing the boat.

While things are the way they are there's plenty of money to be made in the cross sale of numerous products. We all LOVE FE over here, but sometime in the distant future the F2F sale on all these products may indeed disappear all together. Make hay while the sun shines.

It literally has nothing to do with proving "manhood" lol I see the IMO mentality here has taken ahold of you. I've never met these 10k a month renewal guys and I really would like to.

Two years ago, Ameri Health (a Blue Cross company) in southern NJ pulled out of the MA market, leaving 20,000 beneficiaries without a plan. The only other choices in the area were another Blue Cross carrier and Aetna. An agent who had 150 beneficiaries with the carrier spent the whole AEP scrambling around either moving them over to Aetna or putting them on a GI Med Supp as they had a "get outta jail free" pass since their plan left the area. This was around $3,000 in monthly renewals we're talking about.

NJ is a great state for MS as they don't have a lot of MA plans like we do in PA, where it's riduculous.

Its apparent that you've never seen a plan cancel on your book of business, and had to scramble to catch all your clients. I was in Medicare before Part D came around. I was in Medicare when they slashed our commissions in half. There was a time (not too long ago) when we were selling MA's and didnt even know what our comp was because CMS hadnt given the carriers guidance!

I understand the new fad. And you can make money at this, but its just a fad. Many of the selling agents will learn to focus on one or the other. And when they stop getting certified, their renewals will stop too.

Apples to apples, Final expense is much more lucrative long term, and shifting your focus will hurt you long term.

But its no skin off my back, I wish y'all the best of luck, its just not a business plan I'd follow.

I really wished you knew what you were talking about. You would actually be contributing something of value in this conversation.

You say you were into Medicare before you did the call center thing, but your words say that you are just clueless.

Something just seems very off. He isn’t old and if built up a residua that big doesn’t make sense that he’d step away to make upfront money. Not saying it’s not true, but am saying it doesn’t make sense

I just called him to confirm he is still getting his 9300 dollars a month... he laughed and said yep they still pay me every month... he said anyone who wants to hear it from him if you call my cell i will patch u in with Jimmy and you can hear it from him... he even said have northstar call him and he will tell him the same thing...

i am not saying you should do this

i am saying it actually works for those who want to do it

Ryan, I've preached this for years and it has mostly fallen on deaf ears, so don't be surprised to still hear the naysayers telling you that it can't be done.
