New Door-to-Door Flyer Campaign

This is a great Idea, I was not sure if you can stick things in people mail box according to the rules/law the only thing goes in the mail box is mail under the law you can put it on the outside. Now, I was thinking of putting flyers on cars outside shopping Malls, we know who is shopping people with money, families and Seniors are doing their shopping while everyone is at work.

I think the general consensus here is not to do it, unless you take steps to avoid the aforementioned pitfalls.

Putting flyers on cars at commercial parking lots not only the wrong thing to do legal or not, its not productive.

Simple flyers with BRM and agent contact info placed on mailboxes will produce results.......not the results I want now after one week of the campaign......I am shooting for a ratio of 1:100 in closings....but the results thus far do encourage proceeding with the campaign....the area she dropped them off in was not the best area.

I could at least do it myself and drop off 150 every Saturday morning and pick up an extra 3 deals/ $1k per month.

Will update.

With regards to the flyers on the car deal ....
I'm in SoCal and I can tell you I doubt their illegal overall....
I've gotten 'em on MY car in various cities w/o question (have never thought to use them myself)
But either on the street or in the strip mall parking lot those 'things' ARE most definitely placed on cars here in Cali

Nail shops, pizza places and AUTO insurance put that chit in LA,areas of Orange County and Riverside FOR SURE...

Can't say if they work but they are put on cars no doubt, however whoever said that 'certain buildings and cities will eff with you is correct but most don't seem to have the time nor stomach to be bothered with this crap with some notable exceptions.

In Manhattan Beach or San Marino you wouldn't finish both sides of a block before the cops show....try it if you like but I think the 'step right up Auto guys' get away with it b/c they sell on price and they are 'commodity' guys.

bingo, I was thinking of paying some kids to do it sunday mornings while church services are going on.

How about this?

Print up a 1 page "fun" flier - with a word search and/or Sudoku puzzle, some fun facts and an interesting article or story on life insurance - maybe something like a personal account on how life insurance affected someone's life. Put your sponsorship line at the end of the article and possibly and ad for your business someplace on the page. Maybe a link where folks can find more stories. Now...

Print up 1000 +/- and talk to your favorite pizza shop manager. Ask how much they'll charge to attach the flier to every pizza they sell. You might be able to get him to do it for free if you give him an exclusive and/or add a coupon promoting his business too.

Lots of ways to work this concept but you get the idea.

OK Andy.. Now we all know you are Mark in disguise...

*SNAP!* Mark said nobody would notice the clone thingy!

Our local dominos does something similar and my buddy who is an indy P&C agent said it is a complete waste of money. The coupons were going out with every pizza for a month or more, and he got very little response. I would imagine a life insurance salesman would do worse.

My first job in the insurance business, I was with NASE, (we don,t have to get into a discussion nase, right?) Anyway, the used tack up signs saying "At last, health insurance for the self employed" Those signs worked, and worked well. Mailers worked as well. We tied the same message on billboards, and on restaurant place mats. They were dismal failures.
About a year or so ago, I started seeing signs for insurance for diabetics, but they only lasted for a few months in this area.
In most places, the signs are illegal unless they are staked in the ground. We had a way around it that was fairly effective.
