Obama, Anti Bible?

"LGilmore is just trying to antagonize you"

Oh please.... If I were trying to antagonize him or you, I would be putting much much better material out there. Actually I think I've been fairly nice to Pat, just as you had tried to be and you and I. We had exactly the same impact on Pat. Absolutely none. Ya simply can't hear when you can't stop talking.. in this case, about himself...

AMEN Brother...!

I think the best way to show you are a Christian is let your works show, not your words.
I wholeheartedly agree, and I do that in "real life", I'm actually very shy and reserved in person until I get to know you one on one - really not good in a crowd. But how do you do that on an Internet forum which consists entirely of electronic representations of WORDS (other than the nice pictures and cartoons that are occasionally posted)? As others have pointed out before, Internet forums are a great place to express one's THOUGHTS without the personal interaction that might cause anxiety, self-consciousness, the normal emotions that might hold a shy person back from fully expressing themselves, for better or worse.

How do you show good works on an Internet forum? I would have to think you would need to TELL what good work you did somewhere in the world today, and if so, then you WOULD be guilty of what everyone is saying here: brash, brazen, selfish, boasting about what good deed one has done, allowing pride to be on display for everyone to see. I don't want to do that. I haven't done that I don't think, the only reason to do so would be to prove an intellectual point, not to point to one's greatness in the world. Again, folks are misunderstanding confidence with boasting. God tells us if we boast, we are to boast in the Lord and the things of God. Most folks don't like that. And obviously misunderstand it to be boasting about oneself.

Sorry, just thinking "out loud". I don't have much worthwhile insurance knowledge, I share what little I can where I can. And apparently it is not thought that I have much accurate biblical knowledge. Jesus had all the knowledge of the universe, and what did they do to Him, and still do every day? He said his followers would be "in the same boat".

I will think about this and try to figure it out for myself, but right now I am stymied (I know some folks are real glad about that). I am serious about this, I love to learn, and I want to learn what you are saying as applied to this forum (where it was said). Seriously.

So the question remains, how does one show good Christian works on an Internet Forum? Tell me and I will gladly do so. Please answer. Thank you.

I really don't think anybody here but you, have any misunderstanding about what is happening here.

But there's this old bit about people who need attention.. "negative attention is still attention, and if you can't get positive attention, strive for the negative."

at a certain point (maybe here) I just realize I am feeding an internet troll.

Perhaps an internet forum isn't the place to evangelize.
Perhaps.

God is real, we're all imaginary!!

Classic New Age Doctrine! But still won't convince an atheist, actually, not much practical difference!

FEED ME! :arghh:

I have heard the term "internet troll" before and surmise it to be a derogatory term. What is an "internet troll", could someone define that for me? Thanks!

Okay, looked it up:

"Internet trolls are differentiated from people who genuinely wish to present a different viewpoint by their attitudes and aggressiveness; their goal is not to discuss a situation, but to frustrate the members of a discussion board. They often use fallacious arguments or attack the users of a site when they attempt to defend themselves from the troll's activities."

Based on this definition, I'd say YOU are the troll, not me, but then that would put us into an infinite loop and that would not be good. I've begged folks to discuss a situation when I have presented a different viewpoint that most folks don't hold. Instead of engaging me in an intellectual dialog, you use fallacious arguments and attack me personally by just calling names and making derogatory comments, all sort of stuff like that, go back and read it, rather than keeping on point and discussing why you differ in your opinions and view. YOU sir, by this definition, are the troll, no doubt!

However, I will give you benefit of the doubt and I will take the responsibility for being a troll. If I wish to discuss these things further, I will do as someone suggested and start a fresh thread:
...any talk about religion and these extreme opinionated, and might I say hateful views should be banned...I thought we had people monitoring the site so that this type of trash wouldn't end up being discussed here.

Why don't you start your own 'religious viewpoints discussion...?

Perhaps I should. No one has to participate.

It's a beautiful day outside and lots of animals are obsessed with their shadows.

Have a great week!

Brother Ned hit the nail on the head... Again. (like it is going to matter to those bent-for-leather on their fire and brimstone).
But one can hope.
One should always hope.
