Your were on a bad contract with am am then . Street is 120% and most anyone can get much higher . Street at kskj 100% . Sl top contract over 150% . It's the sucker agents taking the comp it at 70-80% levels . Age 65 female smoker kskj $9 cheaper . But again kskj not in many states so many agents can't write them so it's a non issue . Plus as I recall life hawk saying they don't pay commish on the policy fee ? So that 100% street is down to 95% or so . Gtl nor snl pay commission on the policy fee . My friend who'll be in fla with kskj conference really likes them . A lot of great CO's out their and many ways to sell fe and be successful.

JD is on another level. He's writing a company that's not available to most of us.

We have to do the best we can with what we have.

We are still high value to the insured when placing them with the proper coverage,a good company with fair pricing and good customer/agent service.

I don't have to be the cheapest nor do I want to be the cheapest . I have tremendous persistency as I connect with clients and give them great service . Much of the fe I sell now Is off of my Medicare leads and existing Medicare clients . Had a client call me today for coverage . He wants $25 k . It's $142 a month . I'm going in am to write him then I'll knock 6-7 leads in the area . Each person sells what they want and feels comfortable with .
 
How would the comp make a difference?

Never heard of Ky Home Life.
Was a mutual company with HO in Louisville. Demutuallized and was aquired by KY BCBS. Now owned. along with Mountain Life by Terry Forcht.. Believe KHL only sells in KY. Mountain Life is in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Georgia. On their FE plan, the premium is the same for tobacco or non tobacco and is the same or immediate benefit or ROP. Makes them super completive on smokers .. 65 year old male is $60.04. NTU/TU, immediate/graded all the same. Underwriting a little stricter than some.. Not diabetic friendly. The main fault I have with them is a quirky vesting provision. Commissions will only be paid to someone who is licensed with the state.

If a person had to offer the cheapest premium, Lincoln Heritage would have gone out of business years ago.

I chose to get people the most competitive price that they qualify for. I will write FU in a heartbeat if I find the person is FU healthy. And I write quite a bit of FU. RNA always said I wrote more FU than any of the FE agents.

Now, I get it, I'm doing it wrong. But I've earned company trips for 14 years straight with various companies and I never se the naysayers on these trips.

But you can't really expect it from here. There's only 2 or 3 FE producers posting here anymore.

Most of who? Who are you speaking for? KSKJ is available in 21 states. I'm already qualified for their trip next year but I'm number 10 on their production board. So somebody is writing them.

It's not an issue is KSKJ is not in your state. If they aren't in your state then no one has them there. It's only an issue for the agent if they are in your state and you don't have them.

But there's plenty of other companies. I wrote plenty of business before I ever had KSKJ. Last year I did $290K production. About half of that was KSKJ. If you take away my KSKJ production I'm still doing more production than the vast majority of FE agents.

Not having KSKJ is not an excuse to not write business.

Haven't said you are doing anything wrong. Just offering the observation that an agent does not have to have the cheapest premium to succeed. If Settlers with their current state of customer service wee reactivated offering cheaper premiums than KSKJ would you be using them as your Go To company? I doubt it. There is more to doing the best for the client than premium.

The comp is 30% more at am am than kskj . That's obviously a big factor in the pricing of a product . If not then why wouldn't kskj with very low prices pay 150% plus to the fmo ? Why wouldn't Trinity with a competitive product pay more than 130-135% ? Why wouldn't Slac pay more ? A great majority of the most competitive products pay less comp which is understandable.

Nor is there 30% difference between AmAm and KSKJ.

In fact, when I had AmAm my commissions were less than my KSKJ now.

I never would . I'm on a 115% with slac so I'd write them if cost was everything . That's like saying why doesn't everyone shop at Walmart or Aldi's ? Their the cheapest yet the #1 retailer on the planet is Costco which is considered middle if the road pricing . There paying for my service too . I'm selling a package deal . Jd's that Interesting you say you do $145 k a year or 50% at other CO's . For the life of me every company I've heard you talk about outside Kskj is dog crap . What CO's could you possibly be placing all this premium with ? Am Am , Prosperity , Trans , Rna , Trinity , Foresters , moo are all high priced no service CO's . So who could possibly pass your test for price and service for $145 of premium ? And outside de why would you use a other carrier but kskj ?
