Page 1 but No Results

Maybe "unpleasing" was a bit harsh. Grammatical issues are all over the website. It took me just a moment to find the ones listed below.

I'm not trying to be overly-critical, but a high-school student would not make some of these errors.

Please take this as a positive. I used to always tell Dave Miller...Don't tell me what I did right. Tell me what I did wrong. Then after calling me a snapperhead, he would tear me apart. And I appreciated it.

Also....your blog Who is writing it? That is...is it original content? If not, you're just hurting youself.

Chumps "If you prefer just contact us and we will send you a hard copy, compliments of"
Was supposed to read
"If you prefer, just contact us and we will send you a hard copy of the discount card compliments of LJM Insurance."
After your post, I was changing some things and then, I received a call. It went south after that.
I appreciate the direct approach, I was taught if you don't think you that make mistakes you will never learn anything.
As far as my grammar, I made my living with my hands for over 25 years. The written word has not been practiced since high school, so the idea I want to express doesn't always end up the way it should. Again, I am learning and relearning as I go.

My Blog is not original for the simple fact that I am not a writer, and I find it very difficult to put together original material and write it out. (see above grammar problems). I can talk or speak in person, but I can't put it in writing.

All the bold type was the SEO guru's idea.

My skin is very thick and I appreciate all your remarks, and information.

So this is where we find ourselves fighting to make it to page one on google.

What happens when everybody does it right...then what?
Only the very very few will make it to page one so what happens to all the folks on down the line? Are they out of business?
Are they wasting their money even having a web presence? It almost seems to me the web is turning into the equivalent of major TV network advertising in that only the deepest of pockets can play, for Insurance anyway. If you add up the time and money spent on this web stuff divided by the number of leads you get its ridiculous. A bad telemarketer could create more leads in 3 hours than a whole year of chasing google.

All very good points.

In 2013 you need to have a website for your business, in my opinion it's even more important than a business card (but you should probably have both).

It really isn't even as simple as who has the deepest pockets when you're talking about organic traffic, it's a combination of having resources AND how Google (and the others) are feeling at the moment. PPC is another story, that really does come down to who has the most money to gain from the ads and how well they can get traffic to convert. In the list world I'm working on getting the PPC dialed in right and that's proving to be an adventure unto itself. Very easy way to spend $500 to make $100.

To a point you may be right, but like it or not , the web is a major part of commerce. It is growing and the phone is fading fast. Look at anyone under 30, they are lost without the Internet. The reality of today is texting and website searches. Schools offer Internet classes, every product on the market including your groceries can be ordered online. As a former printer I can personally attest to the impact the web has had on media.

Ok, so lets fast forward 15 years from now and somebody asks me why are you working for them and not for yourself?
I say, because Acme Insurance is listed on page 1 and my agency is only on page 2.:D

Chumps I made my living with my hands for over 25 years. The written word has not been practiced since high school, so the idea I want to express doesn't always end up the way it should.

Take each of your pages and copy into Microsoft Word:

Ctrl A - select all
Ctrl C - copy
Ctrl V - paste

MS Word will highlight all the misspelled words and grammatical errors. Make the changes in Word until everything passes muster. Then copy back to your site.

That is the reason that the other town names are on the first page. I am in the middle of a cluster of small rural towns. If I could get high ranked for places like Jefferson and Beaver Dam, along with the other smaller towns, It would equal the population of Milwaukee and Madison. I thought about trying for Jefferson and Dodge counties verse the town list. Going after Milwaukee and Madison would take a very large budget, I would think. One of my Issues is how to branch out or open up the location.

You rank for Watertown because it appears in your page title and H1 tagged subtitle. The other towns appear in your keyword list and an H3 tag but don't rank well.

"Health Insurance Beaver Dam WI" did not appear in the top 40 pages.

If you wanted to rank for each of these towns you may need a separate page for each town, putting the town name in the title and H1 tags as you do on the home page. You would have to make certain that each page was completely unique from all the others, and offered something of value to the people in each town: link out to local resources (hospitals, healthcare providers, etc.).
