Purchase Insurance Online

Binding online does not exist for non-direct writers. Why would a carrier want that? Thats not what they pay you for.

Okay, I understand it would be nice, just doesn't seem to really happen that way.

Forgive me if there is an obvious answer to this as I'm not even licensed to sell p&c... But if this is possible with life/health, why not p&c? I actually asked this a few months back and couldn't really get a good answer then either.

Ben, I think you are referring to an agent being able to bind and submit an app online? Yes, an agent can do that with most P&C companies.

However, I think the OP of this thread is wondering if it's possible for someone to check rates and buy auto insurance automatically through the agent's website, like consumers can do through Geico or Progressive.

I see...

I'm can't speak for the OP, but I think something like the ezlifesales system mentioned in another post (and on my website) would be cool for p&c. Especially for L&H agents that don't focus on it.

I don't know of a single life or health company that allows online binding. Online apps, yes, but thats not the same thing.

Binding means the policy is in force. Buy it now, get in your car in 10 minutes and have an accident, its covered (with lots of questions, but covered).

Apply for a health policy online now, go to the docter later today and see if its covered.....

That's my understanding, too. Except I've seen recent Metlife commercials talking about getting term life coverage in one phone call. Does anyone know what Metlife is doing?

I understand on the binding part of it, but I'm just talking about having the technology developed to be able to have a customer visit your site, apply, and have the app submitted to either a carrier or an upline for processing. (Which is available w/ L&H)

I am looking for the same thing. In the meanwhile I am considering signing on with USA Benefits until I can figure it out and then do it alone.
