When you refer business to another agent that specializes in an area other than yours what is the typical compensation arrangement? I've heard everything from 20-50% of the advanced amount and the writing agent keeps the renewals to not receiving any compensation at all (yeah, right). Just looking for the industry standard or at least a fair amount.

50% is a fair number; providing that you have already closed the deal. I would say this is not the case.

25% is more fair considering all the service work and annual reviews the other agent "should" do. I hope this helps.
