So, after contracting and running my first set of leads...I closed a few, got paid, wondered how I'm gonna make it on this kind of income, found this forum, saw how much I'm getting screwed at $21 leads and 55% comp with no stated renewal amounts and....now wondering what the heck to do.

There are no renewals jump out fast.

If you're leads were FREE, 55% is ok, as long as there were renewals.....but $21/lead AND 55%??? JUMP!!!

And Tins & SIA thought Rick's life was bad, lol!!

Oh man. No offense but who's the manager that got that deal done? Lol

Dude....do not take another lead or sell another product with them. For once I would even agree to call EFES. Same system. 80-90% commission. Average lead cost is $20-$24 per lead. But you can get lower with steady weekly production.

Only problem? You most likely have the same top carriers EFES uses and there's no chance your current manager will give you a release.

Good luck. Sorry you fell I into that trap.

I recently heard that John Kite was with Securus... When I was recruited into NAA he was their GOTO Spokesman! I never heard a better B.S.'er in my life...ALL HYPE but VERY MOTIVATIVE! He would sputter the NAA Rahh Rahh and talk about all the money you will make off your 55 point contract. I will never forget when he gave me his Phone Number and NEVER returned a call... I will have to say that ANY company that uses this guy as a spokesperson, you should RUN, RUN, RUN from as fast as you can.... A big part of my BIAS is because NAA and John Kite made promises to me about having plenty of freshly mailed MP leads in my area and when all was said and done, all I got from them was AGED/RE-Worked leads... I don't know if this is an issue with Securus but I was told it was from another FE agent here in Fl...

John Kite *is* an excellent motivator. Best I've heard in a long time.

Gives Oblame-o a run for his money.

With that said, for me at least, I'm having no problems receiving fresh Platinum leads.

What *might* be the problem (and I have no way of even knowing if this is true or not) is that standard mail can take ages sometimes to come back.

I had that experience doing my own standard mail drop. Lady swore she JUST received the lead. That was after dropping mail 10 weeks prior.

I am so ticked! Obviously I want out of this vortex...I've already stopped my lead flow, The deals I closed paid my lead costs, but I haven't profited a dime. I still have about 18 to run...so I guess I have no choice but to suck it up and go for now. The release is definitely what I'm concerned about. I'm not sure how to approach the whole thing or what the policy is on release. I suppose that's my next research project for today. If someone has some experience or advice on getting OUT with my head still on...I'm listening. The really bad thing is that according to the official "comp plan", I didn't even start out at the bottom! This is supposedly the third level up!

The release is very simple. You just tell them you are done. Run those last 18-leads and sell them on Securus contracts (unless you paid full price for the mailings.)

Then walk away. Contract with other FE companies and it's business as usual. After 12-months of no production you can pick any company back up that you had at Securus. In the meantime sell Settlers, 5-Star, Oxford, American Continental, LaFayette, etc. there are dozens of good companies to choose from.

I don't know if Securus is good, bad or in between. But my point is that no FE agent is ever trapped anywhere if they want to leave. Just make a clean break when you leave. No one respects an agent who sneaks around selling on the side and trying to keep his captive agency going at the same time. If you leave, leave clean.

Well that's a bit encouraging, thanks. I just found something that is bothersome on the backend of the website. It mentions very subtly "whether you are an enrichment or traditional affiliate". The comp plan I have access to is "enrichment". So this must be the catch. I'm not at all interested in being an agency builder or manager. I've been in sales management for years and have had enough for a lifetime. I have had good support, training, materials, etc...from my management. All at no cost, and have received what I know to be fresh leads as ordered. I wouldn't call Securus "bad" as they have been supportive and honest. The problem is that people new to this business like myself just don't know what questions to ask! I'll be in contact with EFES this week. Any suggestions as to how that should be done? Apparently approach makes some difference...
