Setting Appointments from Received Lead Cards

sound like a plan, I have door knocked on leads that said no on the phone and they bought, but haven't sold any one who said no in person by calling them back on the phone , hint hint,.....
I like to stop by all leads, they cost too much not to. at the door I might side step and say "just wanted to meet you in person" and see when this week is good for you and set app at the door.

I am assuming your leads are much closer together than mine. My leads are usualy within a 25 miile radius. Which might tend to make drive bys more profitable.

In MIchigan we had a snow day on Tuesday. Got about an inch of rain, then freezing rain and then about 3 inches of snow. I had 4 appointments from old leads from Sept and October that I couldnt close at the time, which were all drive bys. The first one I got stood up on but I wrote 5 policies at the next three stops. I will take appointments any day of the week over drive bys. Work smarter not harder.

I have an extreme dislike for driving to a home and hoping they are there. I do drive bys as a last resort, usually when killing time between presets. Most of my leads are not in good homes and I certainly don't want to go there twice. My last stop on Tuesday had a space heater in the middle of the living room, with three dogs huddled around it. I was reluctant to write them, the people not the dogs, but did when they assured me they could afford the payments. $48 and $31 a month with Foresters. Throw enough **** against the wall and some of it has to stick.

During inclement weather I'd much rather spend 4 hours at home on the phone where its warm and dry scheduling appointments for one or two days of road itme than driving all over gods white earth 5 days a week, hoping to catch people at home.

I might be able to help with FE contracts pm me.

Its easier to hang up a phone than it is to slam a door....I agree, but on the other end of it I would always drop in on those I couldnt get in touch with to make an appointment....

TPA I assume you tried both methods but you found that ALWAYS dropping in rather than trying to make appointments worked better for you?

Got any door knocking skills you want to share--I need help in this area...

If the lead card doesn't mention anything about actual 'insurance' would it be best to not mention it when you call to set the appointment?
Not sure how many of these low income folks are thinking the program is something that might be of no cost to them if they "qualify".

Trust me when I say this.

Regardless of what the card says, take the honest approach.

Think about it. Do you really have to trick your way into someone's house to be successful in this business?

JD's approach is the best --

"This is Mrs. Jones, right? Ya, this is Rizzle calling you; I got this reply postcard you or your husband Bob sent back to me, requesting information, either on LIFE insurance, or BURIAL insurance. I'm the agent in the Hereford area that handles this, I wanted to see if 3:30 tomorrow would be a good time to take 10 minutes to go over what this is about."

no trick, i would be calling only to make the appointment. So i would want to be consistent with the mailers verbage.
i believe JD's cards do mention insurance which makes it somewhat different. that's not what i'm inquiring about here.
i just dont want to try to avoid objections while trying to make the appointment regarding what the product actually is. if they think its free when i get in the house then thats fine i guess, but i just need to sit with them and take it from there.
