Starting With Securus

Go buy a list from MoO, get 1000 names and address and filter them by age and income- pop it in excell and sort and you'll find sometimes up to 10 people on the same street- Bring a old BRM card with you and if you knock on 25 doors a day- you'll make 2-3k a week.. easily.. And it'll cost you 50 bones a week... I still run telemarketed leads and when I have an appt setup .. I'll search my MoO list and find 20-25 people within that area and hit them before or after my appt...Sometimes you'll find people on the same street as your telemarketed appt or a couple streets over.. very little wasted fuel involved...

Very good plan.

Yeah it is..

Wanna know another way to beat the system?

AA batteries... Where am I going with this you ask? Well, if ya go through them like I do having a 4 year old and other things like remote controls, the optic mouse etc...

You know that a pack of 4 AA's will cost you around $5 bones right?

Not me-

Go buy yourself a 6v lantern battery at Walmart for $5.. like this one

Pop off the top with a screwdriver and inside?

You'll find 32 AA batteries

Yes I'm a cheap bastard..just ask my wife...but it's extra beer money for me

You can thank your uncle TPAA later

I never knew that. Ain't that something!

32 AA batteries at 1.5V each would be the equivalent of 48V, unless they are stacked in there as a series/parallel design. You would have to have 4 packs of 8 to make it 6V total.

Breaking it down, you would have to group 8 batteries in parallel (still only 1.5V) and then have 4 packs of those 8 wired in series to come up to the 6V. That would be about the only way it would work.

Todd, you are much smarter than you look.

You can get 115-120% contracts and buy $20 telemarketed leads that are just as good as any direct mail piece...

Are you really getting a good deal at 90%? No, you are not

Thats a good 20% spread.. Lets use Ben for example, says he's on track to clip 75K, we'll use that number for now

75,000 x .20 = $15,000

Not to mention, Securus 2-10's are something stupid like 4%, whereas you can get upwards of 10-12%

You can tack on another $4,000-$5,000 there alone

This is where Securus mgr's make their money.. off your 2-10's

Everything I've read leads me to believe that EFES does their agents right- sends them the lead card, they get them on saturday which is real solid as you can get to calling on monday to setup for the week- I really like that approach a lot

I seen Securus's operation- I wouldnt recommend it- if your new, maybe.. I'd still go EFES tho'

Ok. Here's the thing...

1. I can't get $20 telemarketed leads in Arizona. Ask Todd, he'll tell you. AZ is very tough to get leads. If there is any IMO on these boards that will give me 115-120% contracts with $20 leads, I would leave Securus in a second. I'm waiting...

2. From everything I've read on the forum, residuals are very low in FE. Most policies lapse at around 18 months.

3. I get my leads every Friday. If Saturday is such a better day, then I guess EFES got me there. As for have the "original" lead card, oh well I guess I'm out about 6 bucks in paper costs per year. Darn.

4. About door knocking... I didn't get into this business to go around door knocking. In case you are not familiar with Arizona, the average temperature in the summer is around 105. I can thing of a million things I'd rather do than walk around in slacks and a button down in August.

With Securus I get my leads every week and can set appointments. Sure perhaps you can generate leads door knocking your lists, but that also requires time to door knock. Time is money. To each their own, but I'm happy with where I'm at for now.

There's your newness showing again.

Most final expense policies do not only last 18 months. If that were the case, there would be no insurance companies in business. How else could they pay the FMO's 140% of first year commission, pay for underwriting and pay their staff.. AND pay out claims? Hogwash.

I have lots and lots of clients on the books at the 10 year mark now, and I would suspect that's not the exception. If you're only working toward an 18-month book of business, you'd better get out now, otherwise you're going to be on the rat turbine until your little legs can't carry you to the front door anymore.

Here you go:
Welcome Insurance Agents-Cheap Telemarketers Leads (They happen to have a good reputation, too, by the way.)

Even if they're $30 each and you're keeping 115% (like with Forethought, for example, with 9% year two, and 5.5% year 3-5), you're better off.

Oh that's right, you don't care that you're paying $20.95 for a lead that you only rent for 35 days.

So what is the average length of a final expense policy?

Also, if telemarketed leads are so cheap, and just as good as DM leads, why isn't everybody using them?

It seems to me that the most successful FE agents are either with Securus or EFES. Why would that be?
