I see so many new agents state that they are being hired for a position. I really think it's important that you understand that unless you are being paid a salary you are really not being hired for a position. You are simply contracting to an agreement to sell product. Read that contract carefully. The agent is the one producing the cash flow and sharing it with whomever. Make sure you are working hard for your own benefit. If you are on a commission only contract you will only make money on what you do in the field and that is by producing applications that can be turned into the insurance carriers home office. The Mo's are really working for you if you produce by offering back office support, application scrubbing, training and whatever. So take that position. Don't let them treat you like an employee. Some Mo's and MGA's or whoever can help create a great team with what they do for you and therefore deserve a cut of the cash flow. It's your business. Accept high contracts and don't let those who are not out writing the applications claim your money as theirs. How may Mo's do you know make money without having a single agent? Not one!
