Settlers 2018 Changes

American Senior Benefits is, that's who shows up on the newsletter thats probably why your asuming its nasb.

I have not looked at Settler's rates, but it appears that going up and/or tightening underwriting on younger ages has been pretty standard for those that have repriced. I can only assume companies have been getting a lot more people on disability in those ages and it is adversely impacting experience.

Yes they have been a good deal on young ages for a long time. Most companies don't want that business. The ones that do go to the young ages usually have height weight charts are screen for disabilities or tightens up there Underwriting.

It was only a matter time before they had to tighten this up. Hopefully they will still remain competitive but I haven't looked at the changes in detail yet so I don't know either.

Oh I may get those mixed up. American senior benefits is that one that used to be Great American senior benefits?

Been playing with the rates..... They have put themselves in the UHL+ range.. Especially if you look at the Silver rates which compares more with other companies underwriting with a two year look-back instead of the five year they have on Gold.. In the under 60 ages they are really high compared to others. Even Bankers Fidelity beats them..

Sure seems like Silver is falling more in line with standard rates like UHL Delux, Trans Standard, etc. plus some of the tobacco rates have really increased.
