Starting With Securus

I have an even more better idea.

1) Go through the obituaries to find someone who recently died.

2) Knock on doors in the neighborhood to say you were down the street to deliver a death benefit check to the poor deceased family.

3) Ask them if they would like the same benefit for when their loved ones die.

4) Sell an overpriced FE policy even if they qualify for a GUL.

5) Laugh all the way to the bank.

You're welcome.

Rick

Once knew an agent that worked obituaries exclusively. He didn't make up any tales about phoney claim checks but he would work the name of everyone mentioned.. survivors and especially the pallbearers. He would wait 2 - 3 weeks after the funeral and then start calling. This was in the days before the internet so sometimes he would have to do a little work to locate them but after he got into the first house or two, he would simply ask, " do you know .... ?", and go through some of the other names. He would then call on them with a referral in hand. Did quite well.

Here's another idea that will save money by not paying for a mailing.

1) Get a few blank reply cards.

2) Choose a neighborhood and and write down a "response" from someone who is stupid enough to put their name on their mailbox.

3) Knock on every door on the block waving the BRC to prove that you're there to see one of their neighbors.

4) Hope someone is dumb enough to buy not only the line, but the insurance plan you're pimping.

I trust this is helpful. I am not a marketer so you need not pay me any override for this great idea.

Rick

hahahaha

Yeah, there are too many chefs in the kitchen here.

I certainly hope that people don't say- I/we sent this mailer out to you etc...That is shady for sure.

I have samples that I do show people and ask them if they want help making out heads or tails of all the companies and products out there from a person that is Indy, local, and that they can trust.

Regardless of what they say at the door. I always offer my card and tell them that if they ever have a question regarding insurance and/planning that they can give me a ring with no strings attached whatsoever. I get calls sometimes from people I gave my card to 2 years ago when I was green as could be.

BenS,

Are you using Monumental? Are those policies getting issued quickly and/or are the ones you thought may have been standard are getting Preferred and vice versa?

BTW, I don't recruit hehehe

Yeah I'm primarily using Monumental. I had one that I thought should have been Standard that was rated Graded, so I lot out on that. But who knows, the client might have left some details out from me. Everything else has gone well, usually the policies are issued with 72 hours as long as you stay on top of the process through their website.

Yeah and they are a bit of a pain to deal with. I just had an amendment with one because they couldn't read the contingent's birthday correctly. Not that it wasn't right or legible on the original, but in faxing a couple of times it was "hard to read". They wouldn't accept a new faxed copy of the original or an email verifying the bD. They require an amendment.

I've had other issues just like that with them. They have an ABR form in Indiana that they don't put in the application package and not every underwriter requires, but, if you get one that does, it's an amendment.

I also hate their long ass application. When talking to them they act as if they don't care if you submit business with them or not.

They do issue the others quickly. Reading commission statements at their website take an accounting degree.

I don't have an accounting degree, but I do have a PHD from "The School of Hard Knocks'! I earned that at Foresters.

I thought PHD meant public high (school) diploma.

Agreed. Foresters website is a bear. I don't know how long you have been writing Foresters, but you should have seen their website before they "improved" it a few years ago.

I think most companies deliberately make their commission statements difficult to understand.

I have been writing Foresters for about a year and a half. They are my go to company when I am replacing something. Their benefits can definetely add value to a comparison. I just hate it when you call them and try to get accurate information. You can call three times and get three different answers, all different. It was suggested I start using Americo more. I also just got Mounumental.

I had been using Genworth for the past year but I was told to not use them anymore. They were great for approvals, no script tests but hard to deal with their customer service people. I had two different people send them three months worth of premiums to get caught up and they still cancelled their policy and sent back the checks.

What great benefits does Foresters add?

I know that if they are age 67 or less they can get a year or more of $2,000 Critical Illness if they have no preexisting conditions. But if they are older than 67 is there anything that impresses the client?
