Terminated?!

Will UHC terminate any agent that gets a Vector hit? Or will they allow the agent to go as earned on the commissions instead of losing the contract all together?

I've been indy for a year now and just today my former manager at the agency I used to work at called me and said I have a debit balance ($4K+) that needs to be paid within 90 days or they'll report me to Vector. This is the first I've heard from the old company in a year now. Sure is nice to catch up.

I just don't want to lose my UHC contract before AEP!

UHC will terminate the entire appointment.

Ask them to prove the debt. If they can't, dispute the Vector. They will take it off if the company can't prove it.

What company is it? I may be able to help.

The company is Heartland National Life Insurance Company. In Blue Springs, MO.
He told me he will email me the debt balance tomorrow. I will ask for proof on how the balance got there. Although I doubt he will send that info. Part of the reason i left was because I barely made 10K the entire year I worked for them.

Chances are you would be okay for AEP, no guarantees of course. Maybe you could sell 10-15 additional MA's, and pay that off. It would really be a bummer having the vector hit, since it would limit your options with other carriers as well. Are they willing to consider a payment arrangement? Maybe offer $400 per month, for 10 months, to prevent it from going to Vector?

I don't know. I'm going to talk with them on Thursday or Friday. I don't see how I could possibly owe them that much since I made so little over the course of the year I was with them. Still, I would be willing to work out a payment deal just to be rid of them forever. Plus, I'm making 4-5 times more money as an indepenant that I'd like to avoid the complications a Vector hit could cause.

I have been selling UHC/AARP Medicare Supplements and Medicare Advantage Plans for 4 years now, and I get THIS?

When I called PHD (which is no help at all), I got "they do a background check every year."

I asked how many years they have been doing this, and got no answer. My credit is just as lousy as it was three and two years ago.

So, they gave me this number to a TPA that does the background checks, and I had to call them, and have them MAIL me a report that I can dispute.

Looks like MoO is getting more of my business.

Hi Bob,
I am currently appealing my termination from UHC due to failed background. Can't send in appeal without the TPA report which in my case took three weeks to get in the MAIL! I requested a fax copy but they never did send one by fax.
Long story short, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in Sept 2010. Had 6 days in hospital due to Vertebrae Compression Fracture cause the cancer had metastasized into my hips and up my spine causing damage. NOW I OWE A LOT OF MONEY to the medical providers who are saving my life.
Do you think UHC or my Regional manager gives a damn? NOPE.
Four years of top quality production and now I am groveling to try to keep my appointment.
I am begging forgiveness from the UHC gods for my audacity in getting cancer with no health insurance.
Good News..... A hundred years from now I won't give a crap about selling for UHC, but until then it's a great business!
Best of luck Bob.

For your appeal, it would really be helpful to ask your Manager and FMO to write a supporting letter. It is worth asking. If they will do that, it could make a difference. Either way, I really hope they approve it.

Attilla, that is a real bummer on all accounts. Sorry to hear about your health issues. Doesn't seem like UHC is your friend.

IMO101, I believe he said his manager didn't care. Sounds like he already tried that.

Atilla,

My heart goes out to you. That really sucks.

A health insurance company that is suppose to exist to help people with medical expenses is firing a person for having the audacity to get sick. Not a whole lot of compassion there.

If you can think of something we could do I'd be the first one in line. With as many members as this forum has one would think there would be something. Guess they are a little bit bigger than we are.
