We need a Baltimore Life contract for Tele-Sales. . .

Yes I do because I actually do this for a living and do know what the criteria is. I also said this: "In all actuality, with a good business plan you might be able to persuade them to start you off higher."

I can prove that they won't just give the average Joe Agent an above street contract just because he sounds like a nice guy on the phone. Can you prove otherwise?

The carrier may not, but an IMO surely can, and does on a regular basis. Call around.

If an agent is looking for a 5% bump, they will find it, every time.

And you would know this because you deal with all the companies on a daily basis, right?

Please don't make a blanket statement like this. Some agents coming on here might actually believe you.

Come on Todd, you dont think another IMO on this forum has at least one below average producer five points higher than what you are offering new guys?

Do you honestly believe that?

He or anyone is flat out nuts to think that a business won't give special favors to those who come to the table with more meat.

Its not even that.

This fake street level talk is being pushed by IMOs that cant compete. Most (not all) carriers dont care what you put your people at. They may claim to care, but it doesnt affect their bottom line one iota.

Its not until you get into IMO contract level status that the carrier ever really pays attention. For example, it would be difficult to get a 140% contract with any carrier as an indy agent, but 120 - 125% range? Yes, you can find an IMO that will slide you in under their contract, and the carrier wouldnt even ask a question about it (in most cases).

Until the carrier does an audit, finds that there is an agent at a level they don't deserve. Then your agent gets a letter saying here's your new level, please sign the agreement. If you don't they terminate you. lol.
