My Medicare Advantage Experience Thus Far...

JD does write Med Supps, but he doesn't prospect or look for them. If he trips over them or gets a referral, he writes them. He doesn't write MA anymore and has an agent that he refers MA to.

I'm pretty sure I've heard him state on multiple occasion that he asks every prospect he meets with about their Med Supp. Most have advantage of course, but think it's their supp. But he asks everyone. I guess that's not prospecting?

I don't recall him saying that he asks everyone he meets about their Med Supp....but then my memory's not what it used to be. :twitchy:

I think he said he writes about 20 Med Supps a year. Can't be prospecting too hard.

Nah, not incorrect. I just said it wasn't the best idea and it isn't. It's certainly not a bad idea to sell more than one product in a household if you can. Kudos on that.

My point is when comparing the two, you'll do better in the end if you are targeting Medicare and cross-selling FE and/or other products. That's been my whole argument.

I have no problem with that but being the FE forum a lot of these guys are leading with FE first and foremost. Having them drop Medicare leads would seem to me to be a much higher risk initially when you can simply follow a step by step plan and slowly roll into Medicare with little to no additional lead cost using your FE leads.

Yes, leading with Medicare can work just as well..

Wouldn't be cross selling either would it? :)

There are ways around that, incorporating and having a family member certify is one. That should be the least of your issues

By being incorporated - someone in that corporation can take certification tests for MAPD's carriers and AHIP?

If so - what about CE credits?

So - the Corporation, LLC, etc is who gets paid on the deals too?

I was speaking to Rouse's question about certifying every year. You could for instance set up an agency with your wife and have the commissions be paid to that entity. Someone within that entity would have to maintain their certs to keep getting paid.

You’ve lost your right to accuse anyone as acting as a child when you threw a hissy fit over the fact that you can’t offer as high of commissions as other IMO’s. If I were you, I’d keep my agents off this forum too, they’d jump ship.

No dog in this.

However, I have some contracts with Todd and I ain't going anywhere yet. Is he my IMO? I don't really have _A_ IMO so I may not count. Do I have the highest contracts with him? I don't know. Could I get better with someone else? I don't know. I am not looking at the moment. But this forum would not be my deciding factor.

Back to the mutual shoe pissing.
