Quick Sales Tip

Nobody ever says yes to having you take your shoe off.

But it's a good pattern interrupt, especially for the new guys that may not have the best door approach yet.

The prospect might be ready to object, but asking "do you need me to take my shoes off," interrupts the objection and makes them focus on the question.

And they always say "No."

"Great, where's a good place to sit down?"

Just remember, there are agents on here that are successful the way they do it and will never even entertain something else. Not one thing wrong with that. However, for those that call all of your ideas "crap" or something like that because it's not part of the way they do things ....well, they are probably not very open minded to anything other than themselves. They'll never understand because....well, they just won't even try to understand.

We've got successful agents who do all types of things because it fits them. There is no one "script" or "way" that is good for everyone (no matter what anyone wants you to think).

I think it's funny when someone tries to force their script down a new agent's throat. They should understand by now that their script won't work for everyone, but seems they haven't caught on to that yet. I believe it's just lack of being open-minded.

I guess this is why some FMO's work for some and not for others.

Could you provide some proof to those accusations?

Surely if anyone has ever said there's only one way you can prove it?

And what IMO forces a presentation on new or old agents?

I know high level producers that refuse to use that line about taking off shoes. I also know mediocre producers (and several desk jockeys) who love that line.

To me, it is simple: follow the top producers.

Speaking as a non-FE focused agent, but spending lots of time with top producers (and I'm talking millions in commissions and premiums a year), I'll just say this:

They all do the same things... but they all do them according to their own style.

Van Mueller (an over 30+ year agent producing at million dollar commission levels) says that there are over 3,000 agents who are at MDRT Top of the Table.

Guess how many ways there are to get to the Top of the Table? Over 3,000. :)

Find the themes and patterns and adjust to your comfort, style, and effectiveness.

I never named anyone, but I guess you must be feeling a bit guilty or something.

Wrong again. I asked because I knew you were making it up.

And you need to work on your reading comprehension. Had you named anyone I wouldn't have needed to ask for proof.

I also knew you couldn't find those quotes. But you have been looking for them. You probably believe you saw that crap posted.

First off, I wasn't looking for any quotes. I'm not even sure what quotes you think I should be looking for. I know that many places operate the way I described. There's nothing to be made up. It is what it is. Surprised you don't know this. You always claim to know how a lot of other outfits operate, so you should have known.

Why in the world would you challenge me on this anyway? It's sort of like you took it personally or something...sorry if I rang your bell, but obviously something did.

But, now that you bring it up...doesn't Travis teach a script and teach each agent to go by that script exactly? Word for word, inflection for inflection? Aren't there agents that didn't make it at FEX because they wouldn't follow Travis' script?

Look, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with teaching a certain script and way to do it... but what is wrong is when someone doesn't do it that way or want to do it that way they get called "failures"...when that is not necessarily true.

I do know that no FE IMO operates like you describe.

And now you want to imply that FEX does. Specifically Travis.

Travis is certainly the best. At selling FE and teaching others to sell FE.

And yes, he teaches a presentation. He teaches how to set appointments. How to compliantly replace. He teaches every word matters. He teaches how to use inflection.

He teaches how to set up a work week. He teaches about being incorporated and how to set up a business.

And he's the very best at it.

But, I was the first agent to sign on with FEX . So I've been there from day 1.

This is the first time I've ever heard that any training at FEX is mandatory.

Also the first I've ever heard of an agent not making it because they didn't follow Travis' instructions.

Hell, I don't use Travis' presentation. I haven't been fired. Yet!

I joined FEX in 2021. You're just spreading false rumors.

What's the point of circulating second- or third-hand information, which is obviously an attempt to discredit Travis and FEX? Talk about immature and irresponsible.

If one of them ever does say yes, you just follow up with…
Pants too?
