Senior Life Unannounced Rate Increase-Normal/Abnormal?

5/ 10ths would be 1/2" thick steel.
I would hate to be a pall bearer on that funeral.
Should have been 5/100 s..... So I left a zero off. What difference does that make? After all, a zero is nothing. Actually, I think it is 0.0479"....

You got issues, dude. I have no idea what any other agent tells their client, including you. If I assume every SL or LH agent is a crook, why should I not assume you're one too? I know as much about you, as I do them. Let it go.
All, I know is he just called me one too even though I am completely transparent about the products I present. But, I guess I am since he is the sole arbiter of what product is worthwhile and what is not. :nah:

Of course there was a time he wrote AD coverage:
While delivering a SIWL policy that included ADB in the premium, the client pointed that out and asked if the policy expired at age 80. It says on the dec page "ADB to age 80".It caused a question at delivery,no big deal. My question is,why does ADB only go to age 80 ? After age 80,does the premium decrease without ADB in the policy ? What's the best thing to tell the client ?

C'mon man.....you must be really bored to dig up old threads

I educated the insured,he asked for it and wanted it. His idea.

SL and LH slip it in without the insureds knowledge.

Big difference.

I don't slip it without them knowing the cost either but you insinuated I was dishonest about it without having any knowledge of what I do. And, the post I made was fact (interspersed with my opinion) and you implied it was dishonest spin.

All the "Big Mutual" agents have been "slipping in" the Waiver of Premium since the days of Ben Franklin. They even "slipped" it in on mine.:skeptical::laugh:

Remember, one bad apple doesn't make the whole barrel bad.

Greg you got your work cut out for you . SL's rates just eye popping . Age 60 male Ns $10k . My avg company $43 but SL an eye popping $64.66 for PREFERRED. And we know 30% plus of SL people get modified which is another 40% higher How expensive is SL ? Age 69 for $10 k is around $65 a month for one of my fav company's with aggressive underwriting. Just think . I run into a SL policy in 8 yrs . " Mrs Smith today's your lucky day I came by . What if I told you I can get you a check for $4 k AND your $10 k premium will be the same. Word on the street is that every FE carrier will either raise their rates, lower commissions, or both this year or leave the FE industry. 2021 will probably have more turmoil than ever. Thank goodness higher rates don't make too much difference in the persistency. If they did LH would have lowered their rates over 20 years ago. I'm guessing that the share holders of some of the lower priced carriers are going to wake up and realize that if LH can get away with high rates then they can to. Then the herd will really thin out because the agents who can only sell because they can replace with a cheaper premium will fail out of the business because they won't have that cheap premium carrier anymore.

If a Sr Life agent thoroughly, carefully, and methodically makes sure Ms. Jones understands all the savings that legacy-assurance provides her (including up to 4 family members completely free) you'll have a tough time dislodging the app. And I hope that if you start the 2 year contestability over you're not hurting Ms. Jones and her family.

I'm kinda glad that SL is raising their rates ahead of the competition raising their rates. Sr Life is very nimble and can make adjustments to the market quickly without a lot of red tape. They're keeping ahead of the curve, just like they did in 2004 when they started FE tele-sales.

And higher rates mean more commissions for the agents. That's pretty good isn't it? I mean....we are in this industry to make $$$$....right?

And I like knowing my carrier is being proactive in ensuring it's profitability.

Still wish you well.

BibH let me edumacate you a little. When I make a sale to Ms. Jones here's how I prevent you from replacing her policy.

I say "now Ms. Betty there may come a time down the road where another insurance man or woman talks to you. If one of them has something cheaper you're still better off keeping this policy with your Legacy membership and I'll show you why.

As I shared with you a little earlier Legacy will provide your casket, vault, and monument for $2950. And that $2950 stays locked into place even if you live another 30, 40, or 50 years. It always stays the same. But over at the local funeral home that same casket, vault, and monument is around $7000-$8000 at today's prices. So today Legacy is saving your children about $4000-$5000 on your funeral when the good lord calls you home. And can you imagine how much that casket, vault, and monument will be at that funeral home in just 10 years? 20 years? With Legacy it never goes up as it always stays locked into place at $2950! In 10 years ,your family will be saving even more that the $4000-$5000 at today's prices. That's because the funeral home's prices will keep going up and Legacy's stays the same!

And there are over 200 caskets you can pick from. That way no one in your family will be arguing over which casket to get momma, because you already picked out what you liked way ahead of time. And there's no charge when they ship it to the funeral home. This will make things so much easier on the saddest day of your children's lives. In fact, Legacy will be in your family's corner and they will help negotiate the price of your funeral, even getting price lists from local area funeral homes.

So when you look at the numbers, even if another agent had something $20 a month cheaper you're better off with this policy. That other company can save you $20 a month which is nice. But Sr Life with Legacy will save you $4000-$5000 which is so much nicer that just $20.

And don't forget you can add up to 4 other family members and they get every single savings that you do.....and they get it completely free! No one has to get a policy and no one has to pay a penny! And that includes you 94 year old momma too! Even though she's too old for insurance she's not too old for Legacy's savings. And your brother Harold with his HIV can be included completely free. And their savings start on day one! There's no waiting period for their savings!

That means you, your momma, Harold, and any 2 other family members will each save $4000-$5000 on their funeral expenses. Your $4 monthly membership covers everyone! That's a pretty good bargain for you and your family wouldn't you agree? (tie down)

And don't forget you and your 4 family members also get:
_a free hearing exam each year
_discounts on hearing aids
_discounts on diabetic socks and diabetic shoes
_24 hour telemedicine where you and they can talk to a doctor 24 hours a day 7 days a week
_And Legacy also makes sure your family is getting a great deal on the price of your funeral. You know how those funeral homes can be.

Ms. Jones I only ask 2 things of you. Invite me over to dinner with all that money you'll be saving and you tell all your friends what I did for you . (lol)
