Noemi Ortega, Jay Crockett and Senior Life [Warning]

Insuranceman once told me that SL managers ALL had protected territories... whether you're selling on the phone or not. Is this why they contracted you with your "friend"?

SL has only three protected areas, SC, Louisiana and South FL.

Once again SL moved him....I did not request it, but I did place him on the agency protected list and I was right to do so.

Chris contacted me....I did not approach him on this. It was the VP who actually noticed and ordered the move. I guess the VP had my back.

I'm glad Sr Life doesn't allow recruiters to poach other recruiters' agents. Eliminates friction and tension and helps promote our team atmosphere.

I'll never forget being in Thailand on a carrier trip, watching 2 of my buddies both arguing over an agent, that they both were trying to recruit. The guy already qualified for the convention and was doing fine without either of their help. I just kept thinking, wow, this is just uncool what these 2 are doing...

Eventually they had a major breakup that was all over this forum...

We have a little different setup, where we have agency managers that provide different value propositions above and beyond Entourage.

I would imagine Jaymon and Greg have differences in the support, training, and mentorship options they give their agents as well.

Comp is part of the conversation, but if we find agents haggling over 5 points, we straight up tell them we're not a good fit. Those agents are never satisfied.

Now Chris would be a different example, in my opinion. 5% for him makes a big difference in his personal production and future overrides.

We have managers that are competing in the same circles. We have seen some managers try to talk to every Facebook retread out there and they don't close them for one reason or another. Then they get mad when another manager closes them down.

Actually, I remember being in the same boat a few years ago. A big producer reached out to me to ask about EFES. I didn't know what I was doing and barely had anything to offer above and beyond what EFES was offering at the time.

The guy came on board to EFES... under Ben lol. I was so mad. This was before I had asked to be moved under Ben.

Funny how things work... the agent that was using me to get the skinny on EFES was Brandon Smotherman haha!

But Brandon and I have never liked managers "calling dibs" on agents. We think agents should be able to choose who they want to work with.

Now once the agent has been contracted, we never allow them to go from one manager to another. We protect the hierarchy once they're actually in the hierarchy.

Unless someone is direct to us and want to move to a manager. We always allow that lol.

Of course recruiting's cut throat . If you make 20% on a $200 k producer that's $40 k for doing little . You'll fight for him .Everybody and there mother is a recruiter now . Look at you Josh . Efes , One Life and Amerilife in what 18 months ? You obviously jumped ship for #1 more Comp and more support . So if you were at 145% then getting 150% is big as you can bring a big agent with a good downline at 145% in . Means you can compete for the big premium .

Every agent is looking for a better deal as they should . If I'm bringing an Imo any amount of business and he does little for me he's paying me well above street . It's free money with no risk as I'm established .Ive never heard of CO's outside semi captive like sl having dibs on agents . Do any CO's do that ?

Well we did get more comp when we left EFES, after 6 months. But that was not why we left.

Didn't know what we didn't know while at OLA either. Having open releases at the IMO level is a must. I trusted the One Life CEO more than anyone in the biz, but once he left to go to Amerilife, well, I didn't share those same feelings with those that remained.

Top level IMOs all have their own deals with carriers that agents and agencies are bound by, whether they know it or not.

So I've decided having something in writing protecting us is more important than comp.

But yes, support and resources is what an IMO should provide.

I will say that I took for granted EFES' leaderboard and real time reporting. I assumed all IMOs had that.

That has not been the case...

I believe you knew your intentions from the beginning...you should have Scott Burke (Newby) introduce, set-up the conference and get the commission schedule YOU REQUESTED from Scott.

I believe you knew Scott did not have experience with Senior Life, but wanted to get the real scoop.

Admit if knew you where going with Scott....WHY WASTE MY TIME!

And if you where my friend (by the way is BS, we only spoke business)...ya think you should have had the balls to tell me yourself? Don't my ? ethics...YOU USED ME.

You feel you power on this forum...that's why within minutes you threatened to use it as a weapon...and too top it off you drag a women into it...IF A MAN TELLS YOU TOO BACK OFF, SHE DOES NOT WANT TO SPEAK TOO and then you post her name!

Your a PUNK and I hope we meet up again one day!

Josh not understanding. What deal would an Imo have with carrier an agent or agency Is not aware of ?One life seems to be the fmo for many imo's I'm under. Are you saying one life doesn't release any agent under the Imo who allows releases ? I know Chris Westphal went threw that moo with Amerilife as they wouldn't release him

Im saying the top level IMO has agreements with carriers. Every IMO makes their own deal with each carrier.

Take NAA for example. They worked out a deal with a carrier that they never have to release the agent. Not after 6 months, not after 12, never.

I doubt many top level IMOs would interfere with smaller IMOs under them. But it happens. And if they decided, they could block any release they want.
