Obama, Anti Bible?

How about that 300 mill for education on STD, BHO stimulus plan will give, what a great guy, duh don't have unprotected sex, what part of that is so hard to understand?
Now back to the debate, sorry for the crass interruption.

"confident not arrogant, sorry if I come across that way, happens all the time."

... but if it happens all the time with different people and you're the only constant?

I'm really trying not to be mean here. I took your shots, no matter how "kind" they were, but really at a certain point you're just a guy who was messed up before and you've cleaned up. Good for you.

If you have the type of personality that overdoes, overdoing on Jesus is far better than overdoing on alcohol.

I really don't want to get into a who's closer to Jesus debate because again that smacks of arrogance. I'm really not going to play a "I'm one up on Jesus" game with anybody. Been there seen that. God hears quite well and praying louder or talking in tounges louder than the next guy, just irritates the man. Actions not words.

We'll know when we get there, won't we?

"It's biblical: I want to see the destruction of the wicked by God. Go ahead, make my day."

isn't that a sin within itself? ;)

Are you a rapture kind of guy? Is your car going to be driverless some day?

God gave us free will. Last time I checked with the man upstairs, he didn't appoint you as judge and jury regarding choice.

You fear choice because you can't control the person any longer. They don't have to live under your yoke of oppression.

Abortion's been with us for a long long time. Even back when we wore animal skins and loincloths.

The ability to choose hasn't.

"take it - one day it will end and you will have no more CHOICES."

Again, you're deciding what god will approve or disapprove of. Can you show me the memo from God giving you authority to pass judgement on anybody? Maybe I was out sick that day and didn't get the message. Maybe it ended up in my spam bin.

But if you can show me your communcations (letter, email, fax etc...) that shows where God grants you the right to speak for him, I might take you more seriously. Till then, I'll trust my judgement and behavor to make my case. I like my chances, how bout you?
God created life and has the right to take away life, but is merciful enough to extend grace to all of us so that we in our own wickedness have the right to have fellowship with that all powerful creator if we so choose. Your tortured arguments are getting ridiculous.:goofy: The memo is the spoken word called "the Bible." Maybe if you look into it and investigate it then you would have some understanding and discernment.

Yes, we'll know when we get there.

This is pointless and seemingly wasteful. I will try to refrain from wasting any more of our time.

God bless you and your endeavors in helping your clients and prospects. That's our job. I'm sure you will reciprocate - if I don't see it, thanks in advance.

Peace.

You feel that the bible allows YOU to ridicule and scorn others? You feel that YOU are allowed this because of the book? Can you reference the page that puts YOU in charge or gives you that right? Thanks in advance. ;)

Matthew 7:1-5 is a good place for this thread to end on, but I will put a portion of it here.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye

Hopefully we will stop this thread here. We are all guilty and we all need to stop.:embarrassed:

"Including Ted Haggard"

;) naww, I just think there was a realization that you can't point a finger and say "my jesus could kick your jesuses ass." because in doing so, ya forget the point in believing in the guy in the first place.

Personally, I feel god hears whispers far better than shouts. I also think he realizes that the "shouts" aren't for his ears anyway. know what I mean?

Got no clue what you mean, you are simply giving your own opinion of God based on your own fallible thoughts and feelings. You have just broken the second commandment by creating a false image of God in your mind.

Well, you're not alone, I do it all the time. I just hate it when I do, and ask forgiveness. YMMV.

"We are all guilty "

at last, truth.
Sure we are, and once a Christian sees himself for who he really is, he hates sin and the sin he does and the sinfulness in himself, and pleads the blood of Jesus for forgiveness of his guilt (and asks forgiveness of others if he has truly wronged someone - not just hurt their little feelings).

A non-Christian however, is usually okay with his guilt, gets more used to it, becomes comfortable with it over time, and eventually perhaps even insulates himself from even realizing it is there, all through a human rationalization process.

One thing I've noticed in my years of experience: I have never personally changed anyone's views on religion nor on abortion regardless of how wise, persuasive or correct I was.

Come to think of it, I've never even seen anyone else change another person's views on these two subjects. Never.

I don't know why people try. But it is interesting to watch people butt their heads against a brick wall and try to convince the other person that they are wrong while all the while being convinced they are themselves right.
In the sense you mean it, I agree.

But I have seen, through experienced and wise influence, common-sense conservative folk grow in their faith and knowledge like a mighty oak to become strong influences towering like a giant redwood.

And I have seen liberal folk dissipate in every direction like so much chaff in the wind devolving eventually into a "non-event" on the plane of human existence.

I've always like Michael Steele, this is awesome :

Michael Steele becomes first black RNC chairman - Yahoo! News

Barry is already a has-been, that has to be some kind of speed record he can add to his feeble attempts at actual accomplishment.
