Rates have changed in the past years so let me compete for your business. Then you can ask to do a beneficiary review. Have there been any changes such as new grandchildren, a death of a spouse, etc.. Basically if they still say no you can say just about anything.

Thanks, that strategy may be working out well for you. But what I really want to know is, what "plan" to these folks have, because when I ask them about what plan they have, often they give names which are not insurance companies.

The more open ended questions you ask the more info you will get. I've never heard of that plan before - you would be willing to explain it to me and how it works? Why did you choose this plan to fit your needs? >>>>>>>on and on.

What are you using as an ice breaker to build any rapport with these people?
 
1. You are unclear with your question and confused them.
2. They are giving a name so you'll go away because they want nothing to do with you.
3. Both.
