Rambo has hair.I would like that several times if I could... I chuckle when I see people post on here that they are really sure about cold knocking DM's... I feel like Rambo!

Would you guys share your approaches you use in rough neighborhoods to cold knock?
If it only takes 10 door knocks to get 3 sit-downs and 1 sale that sounds alot better than driving all day for 5 or 6 appointments with the cost of travel and DM. And are these calls made to using a list?
You guys seem to be doing what the "experts" say can't be done.
Thanks

I just read the first 7 pages of that thread. I'll read the rest later, but so far that's a good thread recommendation. The OP has an approach that I've seen work for other agents. You'd have to define the context of can't, or name the experts with such a claim.
ie: Can't do it to be a top line of the big board producer would be different than can't do it to find a sale, and everything in between. Furthermore, it would also have to have the substantial volume of many producers for it to move from 'can be done' to 'recommendation' status. You probably know this, but people often confuse the different lines of logic.
However, with that said, I'll leave you with a thread that I think you'll get a lot of value from.

My cold approach is simpler. When they open the door I just introduce myself as the neighborhood insurance man. "Hi, I'm shonceman. I'm the neighborhood agent for _________ Insurance Company (hand them my card). I've got several clients in the neighborhood, and thought I'd pop over to introduce myself. So, who do you have your life insurance with?" Whether they already have some or not, the conversation has now begun!
I use a similar approach when I'm working from leads and want to hit the house next door. I just change the "several clients" line to something like, "I was in the neighborhood to see Mrs. Jones next door, and thought I'd pop over......", etc.
yuk no thx.
