23.00 set price Direct Mail leads vs Facebook leads

If your showing them a DM lead card and their denying it, and you said it's a good number of folks that your getting that from.
I would recommend working on the approach something is misfiring there.

I agree. It is how you present your self and the lead. You enter that conversation slowly giving them time to think and respond. The I ask, "Mildred, what might have you been thinking when you sent in this card?"

The way in which you intro your self is very important as well. "Bob? Hi, my name is XXX XXX and I am with XXXX " (at which time I show them my book which has my name and my association) then I show the card and intro that I am there to deliver the information.

You face is the best talking pad I know. Smile and show interest and sincerity.

I have not worked a lot of leads.. not nearly as many as most on this forum.. but I still have had the conversation go like this:

"Here's the card you signed and sent in".

"Yeah, that's my signature but I didn't sign it".

yes we've all had that. What he said is it's a good number of people he's running into this problem with. That's not common, at least not for me, maybe 1 out of 50 at most is my experience.

I am not sure where you work, but here in FL I have at least 25% of the leads that deny replying or answer the door and are shutting it by the time I say my name saying "Not Interested" the whole time. You and I both know they replied and know why I am there, but they still use this excuse. Had one lead last week where the wife answered the door and let me in. The husband was sitting on the coach and I started my intro. He denied everything so I started reading off his info-name, DOB, e-mail, etc. He still insisted he didn't do it. Then I asked him if he liked Nascar and he said yes. Left with him in denial and I told him that someone out there sure knew a lot about him.

Plus you got those that are never at home or won't even answer the door. You only work appointments so you don't see every lead and you don't know how they would react when you knock on their door unexpectedly. I can't set appointments because most won't answer their phone. I wish I could go to a preset appointment and the people were expecting me. Even tried a setter and she quit so until you tried it here you just don't know what it is like.

What difference does it make if they remember the card?

I'm here now!!

Your giving them an excuse by harping on it.

if you're getting that as much as you are it's something about you that's making them uncomfortable.

Get a ride along with someone in your area that is a high producer if you can.

you know like they say it's the Indian not the arrow. Hope you take that with the good spirit it was meant in.

P.s. out of 424 apps sold in one year, I assure you about a hundred of them came from Dornocks.

Like I said come on down to FL and see for yourself. I guarantee you it's not me. I have been told that BS before. As far as I know there are no big producers in my area, at least one with good persistency. If there is I would love to talk with them.

Have you tried working a different area, just to see if your assumption is right?

I think any area within a 4 hours drive of me would be tough. I have talked with agents in south FL and GA and hear the same story.

Ask them about cancer... start a conversation like that and then pivot.

Sound relaxed when intro yourself. Think, I just need to drop off the info. "Oh that's ok Mildred if you don't remember sending in the card, I have hard enough time remembering yesterday. All I need to do is just catch ya for a second or two so I can tell the boss man I did my job, gotta spot we could sit down?" Wipe your feet look down and move forward.

Doug Massey is in Florida and does field training. I would call him and schedule a ride along and if he makes sales on your ride along and can help you, move over to him. Then become a sponge and do exactly what he does.

I agree that Florida is a tougher market than most. A high percent of them are going to be cremated and cremation is cheap. A high percent of them are transient and do not have the family roots like the mid-west does. Plus you have a huge number of agents that move to Florida (it's cold in Wisconsin).

But there are some agents who do make it there. So it's not impossible.

I wouldn't keep doing what isn't working well. I would do one of two things. Either get better by hooking up with and Upline that can really help you make sales or move to and area of the country that you believe will make the job easier and more profitable.

Unless it's going well enough to pay all your bills, keep you happy and you just love Florida. If that's the case I wouldn't change a thing.

But is Doug Spongeworthy??
