But seriously, I couldn't add anything of value to the question anyway. I do not cold call or cold doorknock.
It would seem that would be the most inefficient use of time that I could think of. Of course people are going to blow you off. Only about 1% of a targeted market respond to the mailers.
Finding that 1% by cold calling and doorknocking everyone? Where's the haystack? I would rather look for that needle. Or, as Frank would say, "I would rather walk thru broken glass barefooted than to do that".
I would venture that none of the ones giving advice on how to do it actually sell any insurance that way.
